Insomnia is miserable and it was very thoughtful that Mark Zuckerberg wanted to help his wife, pediatrician Priscilla Chan, sleep better through the night. He then posted all about it on Facebook:
“Being a mom is hard, and since we’ve had kids Priscilla has had a hard time sleeping through the night,” Zuckerberg captioned the post that included a photo of his invention. “She’ll wake up and check the time on her phone to see if the kids might wake up soon, but then knowing the time stresses her out and she can’t fall back asleep.” (Source)
OK – it doesn’t matter that the “sleep box” is helping Mark’s wife sleep or not because countless health experts have recommended that no one sleep with any digital, electronic, and wireless devices turned on and plugged in near our beds – or in our beds – or near our loved ones. This includes cell phones which Mark says his wife keeps next to the bed.
Research has proven that these devices can severely impair our ability to sleep well, enough or at all because of blue light from screens, CFL and LED light bulbs, cell phone and wireless WiFi radiation, and “Dirty Electricity.”
Because of all of this, many people have adopted an electronics-free bedroom including sexy people Tom Brady and Giselle Bundchen.
Of course, an electronics-free bedroom still might not be enough. If you have utility “smart” meters installed on your home, the radiation and Dirty Electricity emitted from them can also cause insomnia as well as many other health issues.
If your utility company offers and “opt-out,” you may want to sign up for it. If your utility company doesn’t offer one, there are organizations that may be able to help you get one.
Sweet dreams.
