While fundraisers earnestly raise money to give to researchers, “Big Wireless” continues to make money blowing our minds – literally and figuratively – with their products and infrastructure.
In 2017 National Institutes of Health (NIH) published research that proved mobile phone use for 5 minutes can cause significant memory impairment in humans.
This seems to be a follow-up to research NIH published in 2011 confirming that 50 minutes of phone use affected the brain.
… those who used a cell phone for 50 minutes had about a 7% rise in glucose metabolism in the brain region closest to the antenna, as documented on PET (positron emission tomography) scans.
In 2011, Dr. Keith Black of Cedar Sinai Los Angeles also addressed the possibility of memory impairment from exposure.
So in addition to leading to a development of cancer and tumors, there could be a whole host of other effects like cognitive memory function, since the memory temporal lobes are where we hold our cell phones.
2012 research confirmed that exposure to all sources of WiFi radiation can disrupt the blood-brain barrier which can cause it to leak. This short 2013 video explains how it also kills brain cells.
All wireless devices and infrastructure emit WiFi radiation which isn’t harmless. Decades of research has already confirmed that exposure isn’t only about memory impairment and boosting possible cancer risk.
In regard to brain health, it may also cause
- Addictive behavior
- Anxiety
- Cognitive impairment
- Depression
- Learning disabilities
- Reduced impulse control,
- Violence
- and more.
Exposure can also worsen pre-existing conditions (brain or otherwise) even if it didn’t cause them.
WiFi is a source of Electrical Pollution (aka Electrosmog). Research has confirmed that exposure cell phone and wireless WiFi radiation along with Electromagnetic Fields has a cumulative toxic effect when combined with other toxins.
Manufacturers are required to warn customers about exposure in manuals for personal devices such as Alexa, baby monitors, cell phones, cordless phones, Fitbits, Virtual Reality (VR), WiFi routers, and other “smart” products. Many consumers aren’t aware of this.
Besides the NIH, we have been warned about exposure by broadcast news stations and other media outlets, elected officials, medical professionals, celebrities and comedians. More examples include:
- 2010 GQ Magazine
- 2010 NBCNews.com
- 2011 CNN
- 2011 PBS
- 2012 “Cell Phone Right to Know” Act
- 2012 American Academy of Pediatrics
- 2014 Berkeley Cell Phone “Right to Know” Ordinance
- 2015 NBC “The Today Show”
- 2018 CBSNews.com
- 2018 Daily Mail UK
- 2018 Democracy Now
- 2018 The Nation
- 2018 NPR
- 2018 Newsweek
- 2018 The Telegraph UK
Cell phone manufacturers are also warning shareholders that they may eventually be held liable for the harm these products have caused. Regardless, warnings are a drop in the bucket compared to feel good marketing campaigns targeting everyone and their grandma. Even Sesame Street features a smart phone character on its show.
Unsafe tech use and exposure is regularly portrayed in TV, film, and marketing campaigns – even for prescription medications – because unsafe tech use and exposure is more common than not. For example, this ad features a customer holding a cordless phone directly next to his head which violates safety standards.
Radiation-emitting devices have been designed and marketed to school systems as educational tools even though tech inventors send their kids to private low-tech schools and limit their use of it at home.
Cell phone use while driving = increased radiation exposure because devices have to work harder to stay connected to towers. Recent research also indicates 50% of Americans use phones while driving with kids riding along with them.
Some countries have been proactive about warning citizens. Recently in France, scientists demanded the immediate recall of millions of cell phones after government data revealed that 9 out of 10 phones tested exceed regulatory limits.
Utility companies are NOT required to provide safety guidelines regarding exposure when they install digital and wireless utility “Smart” Meters even though they also produce harmful radiation. Spending much time within close proximity of one or more smart meters definitely doesn’t seem to be harmless.
U.S. federal testing and “safety” guidelines are 20+ years old. They don’t protect the public.
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is supposed to regulate all digital and wireless technology. They were ignoring “The Precautionary Principle” long before the Trump administration. Many U.S. elected officials also seem to have completely sold out to “Big Wireless”
Antennas, cell towers, and WiFi “HotSpots” also emit WiFi radiation. Firefighters haven’t wanted them on their property for many years.
Small cell towers, “The Race to 5G” and “Smart Cities” include exposing all of us to more sources of radiation and Electrosmog in our communities. Dr. Naomi Wolf has been posting on social media about how this is affecting New Yorkers and their pets.
You and everyone you love may feel fine now; however, exposure is cumulative. Of course eventually you may not be able to remember enough to care anyway.
