Podcaster Joe Rogan’s highly-watched interview with former President Donald Trump has racked up more than 35 million views but fans searching for it on YouTube may have a hard time finding it — leading to accusations of censorship against the Google-owned site.

A search on YouTube using the terms “Joe Rogan Trump” or “Joe Rogan Donald Trump” did not bring up Friday’s three-hour sit-down at the top of the list. The Spotify interview also was notably absent from YouTube’s trending page on Monday. Instead, users were offered results of videos from traditional media outlets, like The Hill, MSNBC and Fox News, and their coverage of the interview.

Rogan explained to Musk that the historic interview was getting 1.5 million views per hour and with the help of X, it got 70 million views. The video was viewed more times than all the prime-time news broadcasts for all major cable and network television stations combined. It may have set a precedent all presidential candidates will have to follow in the future. Yet, YouTube apparently blocked it.

President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday said Elon Musk and former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy will lead a new “Department of Government Efficiency” — which is not, despite the name, a government agency. The acronym “DOGE” is a nod to Musk’s favorite cryptocurrency, dogecoin. Trump said in a statement that Musk and Ramaswamy will work from outside the government to offer the White House “advice and guidance” and will partner with the Office of Management and Budget to “drive large scale structural reform, and create an entrepreneurial approach to Government never seen before.” He added that the move would shock government systems.
