Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday cited US military aid as an example of the “big business” opportunities American corporations can find in his country.
Zelensky said in a video address to a meeting of the National Association of State Chambers in Boca Raton, Florida, that rebuilding Ukraine will provide major economic opportunities.
“It is already clear that this will be the largest economic project of our time in Europe,” Zelenksy said of Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction.
“We have already managed to attract attention and have cooperation with such giants of the international financial and investment world as BlackRock, JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs. Such American brands as Starlink or Westinghouse have already become part of our, Ukrainian, way,” he said.

Last month, Zelensky held a meeting with the CEO of the investment firm BlackRock, Larry Fink. They agreed to coordinate on Ukraine’s reconstruction and future investments in the country.
Discussing US military aid in his address on Monday, Zelensky said, “Your brilliant defense systems — such as HIMARS or Bradleys — are already uniting our history of freedom with your enterprises. We are waiting for Patriots. We are looking closely at Abrams. Thousands of such examples are possible!”
The US policy of flooding Ukraine with weapons has been a boon for US defense firms. Many of the weapons being sent to Kyiv are made by Raytheon, the former employer of Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. Prior to taking his post at the Pentagon, Austin sat on the board of Raytheon.
Zelensky added that Ukraine will provide business opportunities for companies in every sector. “And everyone can become a big business by working with Ukraine. In all sectors — from weapons and defense to construction, from communications to agriculture, from transport to IT, from banks to medicine,” he said.
