When I wrote the following articles in early 2020, China was poised to surpass the US and take over the world in several key ways economically, politically, and militarily:
- When China Rules The World!
- China’s Expanding New World Order
- How China Is Changing The World Now
- China’s New Silk Road — Abuses Abound
- Where Is Earth’s First Global Leader Headed?
- America Must Understand China’s Global Vision
China: Time of Xi (Episode 1) – People’s Republic discusses the “China Dream” in which President Xi Jinping was working to ensure prosperity for all Chinese. Since 2013, President Xi had brought 60 million Chinese out of poverty. Xi had been re-elected for life and had big plans for his New Silk Road. China’s Footprint in Africa shows the deep investment China was making in multiple sectors in African countries to build up Africa’s infrastructure.
China had formed the BRICS coalition with Brazil, Russia, India, and South Africa in a powerful shift in economic and political power away from the “Washington Consensus”. The Chinese economy seemed poised to overtake the American economy and China had a very powerful military. Zambian economist Dr. Dambisa Moyo explained in her TED Talk Is China the new idol for emerging economies? that for the first time there was a challenge to the Western political/economic model.
China has a 50-year plan that it has been implementing without the distractions of change of leadership every 4 to 8 years that the US system imposes. The first stage was from 2020 to 2035, and the second was from 2035-2050. China was the envy of the world for its “economic miracle”. China’s “bullet train” network is the largest in the world — and it’s about to get even bigger showed that China was outperforming the rest of the world in transforming its transportation system. China looked like an unstoppable global superpower, poised to reclaim its vision of itself as the center of the world. The 21st century seemed to belong to China.

Two Opposing Views of China
Depending on which analysts you listened to over the last 20 years, China was either on track to overtake the US early in this century, or it was a paper tiger doomed to implode because of its internal problems. The Coming Collapse of China is a 2001 book by Gordon C. Chang who foresaw China’s problems over 20 years ago. He predicted that it would collapse by 2011 or 2012. So, it looks like he was prescient — but just off by a decade.

“China is hot. The world sees a glorious future for this sleeping giant, three times larger than the United States, predicting it will blossom into the world’s biggest economy by 2010. According to Chang, however, a Chinese-American lawyer and China specialist, the People’s Republic is a paper dragon. Peer beneath the veneer of modernization since Mao’s death, and the symptoms of decay are everywhere: Deflation grips the economy, state-owned enterprises are failing, banks are hopelessly insolvent, foreign investment continues to decline, and Communist party corruption eats away at the fabric of society.
Beijing’s cautious reforms have left the country stuck midway between communism and capitalism, Chang writes. With its impending World Trade Organization membership, for the first time China will be forced to open itself to foreign competition, which will shake the country to its foundations. Economic failure will be followed by government collapse. Covering subjects from party politics to the Falun Gong to the government’s insupportable position on Taiwan, Chang presents a thorough and very chilling overview of China’s present and not-so-distant future.”
However, the 2016 book The Hundred-Year Marathon: China’s Secret Strategy to Replace America as the Global Superpower still saw the growing rise of China as a huge threat to America.
Amazon Description
“One of the U.S. government’s leading China experts reveals the hidden strategy fueling that country’s rise – and how Americans have been seduced into helping China overtake us as the world’s leading superpower. For more than forty years, the United States has played an indispensable role helping the Chinese government build a booming economy, develop its scientific and military capabilities, and take its place on the world stage, in the belief that China’s rise will bring us cooperation, diplomacy, and free trade. But what if the ‘China Dream’ is to replace us, just as America replaced the British Empire, without firing a shot?
Based on interviews with Chinese defectors and newly declassified, previously undisclosed national security documents, The Hundred-Year Marathon reveals China’s secret strategy to supplant the United States as the world’s dominant power, and to do so by 2049, the one-hundredth anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic.
Michael Pillsbury, a fluent Mandarin speaker who has served in senior national security positions in the U.S. government since the days of Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger, draws on his decades of contact with the ‘hawks’ in China’s military and intelligence agencies and translates their documents, speeches, and books to show how the teachings of traditional Chinese statecraft underpin their actions. He offers an inside look at how the Chinese really view America and its leaders – as barbarians who will be the architects of their own demise.
Pillsbury also explains how the U.S. government has helped – sometimes unwittingly and sometimes deliberately – to make this ‘China Dream’ come true, and he calls for the United States to implement a new, more competitive strategy toward China as it really is, and not as we might wish it to be. The Hundred-Year Marathon is a wake-up call as we face the greatest national security challenge of the twenty-first century.”
What Went Wrong When
The 2019 video 10 NEW Signs Of China Imminent Economic Collapse & China’s Yuan CRASH! documented serious problems that largely went ignored.
“In this video I will show you 10 new signs that prove the imminent economic collapse of China. It is time to prepare for the upcoming Chinese yuan crash and the great depression in China. The Chinese economy is in the lowest level since 1990, but the Chinese media don’t talk about the real news. When the economic collapse of China and Chinese yuan crash happen, there will be no help from the U.S or Europe, or Japan or other countries and it will shock the whole world.”
Now many analysts are sounding dire alarms for the imminent collapse of China’s economy. A number of factors are now leading to China’s sudden implosion — some of which it could not have controlled, as discussed further below.
The 8/12/22 video below explains that instead of learning from our housing bubble in 2008, China created one even bigger! Because of globalization, almost everything in the US now says “Made in China” when it used to say “Made in America”. So, a collapse of China has major implications for America.

The Dangers of China’s Decline
“As China’s economic miracle fades, its leaders may become more inclined to take risks.
“Xi Jinping’s China is about to give the world an education in the nuances of decline. Since the onset of its economic reforms in the 1970s, China has long defied predictions that it would soon stumble or collapse. Its spectacular growth challenged prevailing views about the sources of national success in the modern world. In some ways, China is still soaring: Its military power grows more formidable every year. When Xi declares that “the East is rising and the West is declining,” he gives voice to this sense that China is a country on the make.
Yet military power is often a lagging indicator of a country’s trajectory: It takes time to turn money into military muscle, and massive buildups often persist even after a country’s economic fortunes begin to flag. And today, for reasons including demographic disaster and the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, China is facing the end of the stunning economic growth that made it possible for Xi to assert that the “great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation” was at hand. The China of the 2020s will be a country whose coercive capabilities are more intimidating than ever as its economic dynamism fades. That could be the worst possible combination for the world.”
If China’s economy keeps stumbling— the whole world will collapse with it.

Is this the end of globalization? Have the globalists overplayed their hands? Few people like globalist Klaus Schwab’s Great Reset which promises we will “own nothing by 2030”. Is that what’s happening in China now?

Peter Zeihan is an American geopolitical strategist and the founder of the consulting firm Zeihan on Geopolitics. His clients include energy corporations, financial institutions, business associations, agricultural interests, universities, and the U.S. military. He is the author of The Accidental Superpower, The Absent Superpower, and Disunited Nations.
Zeihan sees companies like Apple pulling back now on their reliance on China and re-establishing production here! What?! Zeihan points out that because of the one-child policy, China is the fastest collapsing demographic in human history! He says there’s no way the CCP will survive in its current form! He foresees the end of China for multiple reasons!
Zeihan explains the critical importance of the Millennials — which he says ONLY America has! — because they are both consumers and producers that the rest of the world lacks. He explains why the dollar is so strong and will get stronger although people keep talking about “the end of the dollar”. Zeihan claims that both political parties in the US are turning away from globalization now. I don’t see that. Biden is sold out to China and every globalist.
Zeihan’s book The End of the World is Just the Beginning: Mapping the Collapse of Globalization has 534 reviews with a 4.7 rating on Amazon.
Amazon Description
“A New York Times Bestseller! 2019 was the last great year for the world economy. For generations, everything has been getting faster, better, and cheaper. Finally, we reached the point that almost anything you could ever want could be sent to your home within days — even hours — or when you decided you wanted it. America made that happen, but now America has lost interest in keeping it going. Globe-spanning supply chains are only possible with the protection of the U.S. Navy.
The American dollar underpins internationalized energy and financial markets. Complex, innovative industries were created to satisfy American consumers. American security policy forced warring nations to lay down their arms. Billions of people have been fed and educated as the American-led trade system spread across the globe.
All of this was artificial. All this was temporary. All this is ending. In The End of the World is Just the Beginning, author and geopolitical strategist Peter Zeihan maps out the next world: a world where countries or regions will have no choice but to make their own goods, grow their own food, secure their own energy, fight their own battles, and do it all with populations that are both shrinking and aging.
The list of countries that make it all work is smaller than you think. Which means everything about our interconnected world — from how we manufacture products, to how we grow food, to how we keep the lights on, to how we shuttle stuff about, to how we pay for it all — is about to change. In customary Zeihan fashion, rather than yelling fire in the geoeconomic theatre, he narrates the accumulation of matchsticks, gasoline, and dynamite in the hands of the oblivious audience, suggesting we might want to call the fire department.
A world ending. A world beginning. Zeihan brings readers along for an illuminating (and a bit terrifying) ride packed with foresight, wit, and his trademark irreverence.”
Editorial Reviews
“Peter Zeihan is the Nostradamus of the twenty-first century. Using geography as his analytical foundation, he’s able to explain why nations behave the way they do today, and predict with astounding accuracy how they’ll behave tomorrow. Nowhere will you find a more objective and logical examination of geopolitical currents. A masterful blend of economics, demographics, environmental factors, cultural propellers, and realpolitik. The world is changing, especially America’s role in it, and Peter navigates this journey with clarity, rigor, and wit. If your passion is politics, investing, energy, technology, international relations or just being interesting at parties, read Peter’s book.” — Jesse Watters
“Peter Zeihan’s latest work projects a future that will challenge your assumptions on how the world works, what nations are best postured to prosper, and which are fragile. The world he envisions is fraught with danger as powers rise and ebb, but not without opportunity. A worthy read to flesh out your worldview.” — Major General Patrick Donahoe, commanding general, U.S. Army Maneuver Center of Excellence
“I’ve never been so upbeat about the end of the world. Deeply researched, powerfully argued, and well written. Zeihan stitches together insights from economic geography, demography, and history to give us an original yet intuitive theory of geopolitics.” — Ian Bremmer, president of Eurasia Group
“From time to time, we hear how ‘everything is going to change.’ None of us ever believe it. Now I do.” — Bill Owens, former governor of Colorado
“Peter Zeihan has done it again! The End of the World Is Just the Beginning offers a glimpse of the future by looking to the past. The geopolitics and demography that gave us our ‘perfect moment’ in history is passing. What is in store for us and generations to come? Move Zeihan’s latest to the top of your stack and find out.” — Jack Carr, former Navy SEAL sniper and number one New York Times bestselling author of In the Blood
“I found Peter Zeihan’s description of the future to be both plausible and provocative. Regardless of the details of how the next decades unfold, Zeihan’s book convinced me that it is at our own peril that we assume the future will look just like the present. Now more than ever, all our children—regardless of race—need to be equipped with a portable and flexible skill set that will enable them to adapt to circumstances and opportunities that we can’t even imagine right now.” — Robert L. Woodson Sr., founder and president of the Woodson Center, 1776 Unites, Voices of Black Mothers United.”
