Why Do Popes Worship The Black Madonna? shows that the Black Madonna has been the most revered religious icon across Europe for centuries — still worshipped by millions of people and by the Pope today. If the mother of Jesus was Black, of course Jesus was also Black. Since Jesus is the Son of God, it means that God is Black as well.
Yet, Jesus has been portrayed as White since Michelangelo painted Adam and God as White in the Sistine Chapel between 1508 and 1512 and showed Jesus and Mary as White in his Pieta. However, while the popes and much of Europe continue to worship the Holy Family as Black, this information is largely unknown in America where most people would consider a Black Jesus absurd — even offensive.
So, why has worship of the Black Madonna and Christ persisted in Europe and around the world? What did Jesus really look like? When, how, and why did he become White? How is the worship of a Black Madonna and Jesus across Europe reconciled with over 400 years of European enslavement and brutality against Blacks in the Americas and Africa? Presumably, Christians revere Jesus for his character. Would Americans still admire him if he were Black? If not, what are they really worshipping?

How Did Jesus Really Look?
Revelation 1:14-15 says the hairs of Jesus’ head, “were white as white wool, white as snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire, his feet were like burnished bronze”. This is often cited as proof Jesus had hair like wool and bronze-colored skin. However, the video below explains that the reference to wool is not to the texture, but to the color of Jesus’ hair — odd for someone in his 30’s.
The video confuses molten bronze (which it says is white) with burnished bronze shown below. However, even molten bronze can be tan. Nevertheless, the video concludes that Jesus’ skin was probably tan to brown.

Forensic Science Reveals Most Likely Face of Jesus
Forensic Science Reveals Most ‘Real’ Face of Jesus Ever reports:
“Forensic science just revealed the most realistic face of Jesus ever and it’s far different than the fair-skinned, long-haired and blue-eyed Savior most of the Western world has grown accustomed to.
According to Esquire, British scientists, assisted by Israeli archeologists, have re-created what they believe is the most accurate image of the face of Jesus in human history. And they have managed to do this as a result of forensic anthropology which uses methods similar to those police have developed to solve crimes. Richard Neave, a medical artist retired from The University of Manchester in England, is behind the project and he uses cultural references for the Bible to pin down certain specifics about how Jesus would have looked.
“Matthew’s description of the events in Gethsemane offers an obvious clue to the face of Jesus. It is clear that his features were typical of Galilean Semites of his era. And so the first step for Neave and his research team was to acquire skulls from near Jerusalem, the region where Jesus lived and preached.”

The Bible Is Black History by Dr. Theron D. Williams says on page 73:
“If the historical Jesus looked anything like the Renaissance period renderings, Neave argues, He would have borne no resemblance to the people of the community where He lived, worked, and carried out His ministry. In fact, Neave believes if Jesus looked like the da Vinci image, it would have been so extraordinary that the gospel writers would not have been able to resist mentioning it. He points out that Jesus’ appearance was so typical that when the temple guards went to arrest Him in the Garden of Gethsemane, Judas had to identify Him from among the rest of His disciples.”
Europeans Have Long Worshipped Black Deities
DID YOU KNOW THAT WHITE PEOPLE USED TO WORSHIP BLACK DEITIES?
This video explains that early Europeans worshipped Black deities and Popes still worship a Black Jesus in the Vatican. It points out that this truth is hidden in America because it’s hard to admit you enslaved the people who civilized you. See When Moors Rescued Europe From The Dark Ages.

The video shows that Christ and other Biblical figures were originally depicted as dark skinned, but were whitewashed during the Renaissance.

Amazon Description
“We live in an age when younger African-American Christians are asking tough questions that previous generations would dare not ask. This generation doesn’t hesitate to question the validity of the Scriptures, the efficacy of the church, and even the historicity of Jesus.
Young people are becoming increasingly curious about what role, if any, did people of African descent play in biblical history? Or, if the Bible is devoid of Black presence, and is merely a book by Europeans, about Europeans and for Europeans to the exclusion of other races and ethnicities?
Dr. Theron D. Williams makes a significant contribution to this conversation by answering the difficult questions this generation fearlessly poses. Dr. Williams uses facts from the Bible, well-respected historians, scientists, and DNA evidence to prove that Black people comprised the biblical Israelite community. He also shares historical images from the ancient catacombs that vividly depict the true likeness of the biblical Israelites.
This book does not change the biblical text, but it will change how you understand it.”

Africa In The Bible
Part 1: The Myth of a Cursed Race
“For centuries, an ancient curse was used to support the terrible evils of slavery. It’s a curse that appears in one isolated verse in the Bible. Even today, this misunderstood curse still lingers with us as a legacy of shame. Fortunately, through tracing history and honest examination, researchers have exposed the lie of a cursed race. Another concern for African descendants is that Christianity is a white man’s religion, and that they should be looking elsewhere for faith.
You may be surprised what a journey back before the days of slavery reveals about the faith of the African forefathers. In fact, it goes back to the very first followers of Jesus. Many people who are descendants of slaves have returned to the continent of Africa in search of their historical and spiritual roots. But most aren’t aware of a long lost Christian heritage and identity in Africa and in the Bible.
Until now. Africa and the Bible seeks to expose the myths and bring light to some of the questions we ask. You’ll discover the spiritual heritage and identity of people of African descent through this 3-part program from Day of Discovery.
The journey includes Part 2: White Man’s Religion? and Part 3: The River of Faith.”

Amazon Description
“The Black Biblical Heritage is the endeavor of over 35 years of intensive research exposing many doubts and myths handed down through the centuries by European clergy to Africa, Asia, and the Western Hemisphere. Aside from the New and Old Testaments, this remarkable book is the first printed material of its kind to highlight the lineage of Ham, the patriarchal-ancestral father of Africa and sections of Asia.
In 300 A.D., when Rome was just adopting the Christian doctrine, thousands of books, portraits, and sacred icons portraying the traditional belief that Africa developed the early fundamentals of Judaism and Christianity, were burned, desecrated, and hidden throughout the empire. Only recently, following the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls of Palestine in 1947, and the tablets of Elba, Syria in 1975, have theologians reluctantly acknowledged the ancestral facts pertaining to Africa and the Bible; there has been an obsession to replace the Jesus of Israel with the one Italy presented to the Northern Hemisphere.
The Black Biblical Heritage presents:
- Over 170 Biblical characters who were Hamites or of the Hamitic lineage
- Three maps and 2 sketches, which designates the Diaspora of Ham’s descendants
- The misconceptions of Ham’s curse
- Comments from the renowned Biblicists and historians concerning Africa’s contribution
- The concept of the Africans and Hebrews as one people
- Essays relating to Africa’s theological history
- An extensive bibliography with over 700 references throughout the text
- An index of Biblical African people.”
Black Gods
Book: Black God: An Introduction to the World’s Religions and Their Black Gods
“Have you ever heard that Christ was Black? What about the Buddha? They weren’t alone. Many of the world’s first deities and divinities, both male and female, were originally depicted as Black. That means dark skin, woolly hair, broad nose, and the kind of personality that made the world pay attention. In this book, historian Supreme Understanding explores the many Black gods of the ancient world, from Africa to the Near East, to Europe, to India, to China, to Japan, to Australia, all the way to the Black Gods of the Americas. Who were they? How did they come to be worshipped? And what does this mean for us today?”

South African Lemba Tribe: Ancient Jews
“The Lemba are a southern African Bantu-speaking population claiming Jewish ancestry. Allele frequencies at four different Y-specific polymorphic loci, as well as extended-haplotype frequencies that included data from several loci, were analyzed in an attempt to establish the genetic affinities and origins of the Lemba.
The results suggest that > or = 50% of the Lemba Y chromosomes are Semitic in origin, approximately 40% are Negroid, and the ancestry of the remainder cannot be resolved. These Y-specific genetic findings are consistent with Lemba oral tradition, and analysis of the history of Jewish people and their association with Africa indicates that the historical facts are not incompatible with theories concerning the origin of the Lemba.”

The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano: or, Gustavus Vassa, the Africa
Amazon Descriptions
“Are the tribes of Israel really ‘lost’ or were they hidden as prophesied in Psalms 83? The Bible seems to indicate a multi-national conspiracy to hide Israel and wipe out the memory of who they really are. If this is true, then history as we know it has been hijacked, and it is only through searching that we will find the truth.
In this book, you’ll find the answers to the following questions, just to name a few:
- Why does a 1747 English map place the tribe of Judah on the ‘slave coast’ of Africa?
- Why do slave ledgers show slaves being registered with Hebrew names fresh off of the ships?
- Why did slaves sing songs in Hebrew and call out to Yah for help?
- Why did Christ mention the slavery of Israel as a sign of the end of the age?
- Are ‘the times of the Gentiles’ coming to an end?
In this truly astonishing eighteenth-century memoir, Olaudah Equiano recounts his remarkable life story, which begins when he is kidnapped in Africa as a boy and sold into slavery and culminates when he has achieved renown as a British antislavery advocate. The narrative ‘is a strikingly beautiful monument to the startling combination of skill, cunning, and plain good luck that allowed him to win his freedom, write his story, and gain international prominence,’ writes Robert Reid-Pharr in his Introduction. ‘He alerts us to the very concerns that trouble modern intellectuals, black, white, and otherwise, on both sides of the Atlantic.’
