Another Cell Tower Catches Fire Due to Electrical Problems

197-Foot Cell Tower Catches Fire in Lapeer, MI Due to Electrical Problems

“Wiring in a 197-foot-tall cell tower located near Elm and Saginaw streets in Lapeer caught fire Wednesday evening. Shortly after 9 p.m. last night flames were visible shooting from the top of the hollow tower, while near the base of the structure the interior fire was so hot the metal glowed orange and pink…

Lapeer Fire & Rescue and Elba Township Fire Dept. firefighters were dispatched to the fire at 9:07 p.m. There was concern that the tower could fall over onto nearby power lines and buildings. Emergency repairs will be complicated today as Lapeer County and much of southeast and mid-Michigan are under a Wind Advisory until 5 p.m. this afternoon. Southwest winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts of 40 to 45 mph are expected.”

Another safety risk associated with cell towers – they emit harmful radiation. According to a 2014 Wall Street Journal article, 1 in 10 U.S. cell/grid towers violated RadioFrequency (RF) Radiation rules and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) didn’t have enough employees to monitor or correct this.

Since 2014 hundreds of thousands more cell towers and antennas have been installed near American homes, hospitals, schools, etc. Some Americans are sick of and apparently sick from this (see 1, 2, 3, 4).

For many years firefighter unions have been opposed to cell towers and antennas being installed at their stations due to health and safety risks.

Unfortunately, the FCC has been a corrupt and “captured agency for decades. During the Trump administration, lawsuits have been filed against them for NOT protecting the public from unsafe levels of radiation as well as 5G on Earth (see 1, 2, 3, 4) and in space.

Doctors and scientists have asked MANY TIMES and again recently that health and environmental risks from radiation from 5G, cell towers and other wireless sources be evaluated by experts with no conflicts of interest (see also 1, 2, 3). The agency refuses to update its 24-year-old radiation exposure guidelines.
