Seinfeld fans may remember the episode when George started having back pain. The culprit: carrying his overstuffed wallet in his pants pocket.
So what’s that got to do with your lightweight cell phone? All personal wireless devices come with warnings about RadioFrequency (RF) exposure. The fine print in cell phone manuals specifically warns owners to not hold or carry these devices directly next to the body Exposure to all sources of Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) can lead to Microwave Sickness and debilitating pain is one of many unpleasant symptoms.
Laptops and wearables emit RF too. So do ear buds, some hearing aids and even new high-tech diapers.
According to a recent report from the World Health Organization, exposure to increasing levels of Electromagnetic Fields in 1st world countries may lead to health issues in 30% of population. In 2010, other health experts basically said the same thing.
I had a friend who developed back pain and didn’t know why. He stopped carrying his phone in his pants pocket and the pain went away. Go figure.
