Op-Ed by Alice Salles
Chicago, Illinois, has a chronic inflated state problem disguised as a schooling problem. In order to eradicate the symptom, Mayor Rahm Emanuel has decided to attack those who suffer from it and not the actual root of the problem — adopting a classic “more of the same” approach.
A plan approved in May is set to take effect soon, forcing high school seniors to either be enlisted in the military, have a job, be enrolled in a gap-year program, or have a college acceptance letter before the Chicago public schooling system will give them their diploma. The obvious consequences of this new policy are problematic. Still, Emanuel doesn’t seem to care.
In the scenario Chicago’s mayor envisions, students from the poorest areas of the city, where many parents are often absent due to their work schedules, problems with the law, or other issues, children nearing the end of their senior year will have to head to a counselor’s office for advice on which path to take if they want to obtain their high school diplomas. Unfortunately, in many of the schools in those areas, counselors often work with 400 students at a time. With few resources to offer sound advice, these students will be forced to do whatever seems easier, less complicated, and perhaps less burdensome in order to meet the new requirements. As such, many will enlist in the military while others will head to already crowded city colleges. The other obvious consequence of this policy is that many students will simply postpone graduating or completely give up on it.
In no time, Chicago, whose population already suffers due to poverty, high crime rates worsened by a suffocating anti-gun agenda that hurts blacks more than anyone else, and the ongoing drug war will see yet another problem gradually taking over. As young high school students feel uncertain of their future, they will have no incentives to pursue their own individual paths. Instead, they will turn to those that are readily available. As a result, many of the poorest kids in the city will likely take up crime, whether on behalf of the state — by joining the military — or on behalf of a drug cartel that wouldn’t exist without the U.S. government’s war on drugs.
Inflated State, Ineffective Schools, Unhappy Kids
Illinois is mired in debt, and school teachers’ pensions are a great part of it.
In 2015, when Emanuel failed to promptly find a way to cover some of Chicago’s teacher pensions, he also struggled to find a different means to increase revenue. As a result, teachers and school staff were slashed. Unfortunately, that’s not the case only in Chicago, but where teachers unions have a great deal of power with the local and state authorities.
Thanks to the pact between teachers’ unions and public schooling systems, government-run schools have a great deal of overhead to take care of. Unfortunately, the taxpayer isn’t an endless cash supply and, at some point, the government runs out of other people’s money. Without a way to cover teachers on tenure who are often impossible to fire, these schools struggle to make changes that would actually benefit the students.
In this perverse universe, the schooling system works for the teacher, whose union-backed contract ensures his job and pension are guaranteed no matter how effective the teacher truly is. The student hoping to obtain some important skills to lead a better life outside of the schoolyard, on the other hand, gets nothing.
In Chicago, what Emanuel did was continue this tradition.
Instead of putting an end to this evil system, which allows corruption and inefficiency to remain unaddressed, he’s penalizing students — poor students, in particular — by forcing them to have it all figured out by the time they are done with their senior year. As we all know by now, this plan is sure to backfire.
But why do politicians like Emanuel continue to enable this type of behavior? What do they gain by never addressing the root causes of these issues? The short answer is: a lot. After all, many local, state, or even larger congressional races can’t be won without the support of unions. And teachers unions are some of the most powerful organizations in the country.
To many politicians, standing against teachers unions means losing — and badly.
Thankfully, however, things appear to be changing, but not enough that the mentality surrounding public schooling is also shifting.
For us to have a definitive and constructive conversation about education in the country, we must first tackle the very root of discontent: the government-run education system.
Until then, be prepared for many more Chicagos and many more Detroits to unfold across the country before average Americans finally realize they cannot rely on the state to ensure their children are properly educated.

Riiight… ‘cuz it makes so much sense to blackmail kids into serving the very institutions that created the mess Chicago’s in today, so they will be forced to do the bidding of their owners which includes murdering innocent people. There is so much wrong with this I barely know where to start, but suffice it to write this proves we’re nothing but human capital and slaves to a very, very diabolically corrupt system – a system that rewards indoctrination by degree (freemasonic Satanism, mortar boards on heads), criminalizes poverty (which they also created), silences free speech, action and thought, and buries individualism inside the belly of the beast of hive-mindedness.
Tavistock Institute perfected this mind-eff (pardon) on British soldiers in the early 1900’s by breaking down the individual so he or she can be rebuilt into the robot of their dreams, and that’s precisely what they want to do to these poor kids. This is conspiracy to remove rights, nearly by the letter:
18 U.S. Code § 241 – Conspiracy against rights
If two or more persons conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his having so exercised the same; or
If two or more persons go in disguise on the highway, or on the premises of another, with intent to prevent or hinder his free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege so secured—
They shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, they shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.

But here’s the rub – we have no rights, so they’ll get away with it, just like they’ve gotten away with everything they’ve deployed on us. They lied to us about our rights, too. So no laws protect us, they only protect the corporation, and by proxy those above the law, like politicians, lawyers, lawmakers and clerks masquerading as judges, celebrities, royalty, and those with enough money to buy their freedom back.
Once again a gift from Grace. May I add regarding our “rights” as citizens:
The constitution, a noble piece of parchment, and unfortunately, a business contract to own us. Do your research. Here in about 175 words from the mind of David Icke…
In 1606 King James set up The Virginia Company to begin settlements in Virginia. Its early members were aristocrats. Eventually it was dissolved and formed into a royal colony.
This means all rights applied to the Virginia Company owners, to the gold, silver, minerals and duties, mined and paid in America, still apply to the British families who own the United States of America and the lands of the united states of America. (spelling intentional)
After the original 13 colony’s ‘independence,’ an ‘independent’ country was formed. The Virginia Company simply changed its name to the United States of America.
There are two USAs… a USA and a usA. The united states of America with a lower case ‘u’ and ‘s’ are the lands of the various states. The United States of America, capital ‘U’ and ‘S’, is the acreage on which is built the federal capital, Washington DC and the District of Columbia. The USA is not a country, it’s a corporation owned by the same bloodlines who owned the Virginia Company, because IT IS the Virginia Company!
Aww, thanks, EJ 😉 Oh yes! I am well aware of the fraud that is the Virginia/USA Corp. as well as the lies about the nature of the Constitution. It doesn’t afford or protect any rights of the people, it’s a compact only, or treaty, between two nations, so we are neither subject nor party to it. Besides, slaves have no rights, only privileges for which they must first ask permission, then contract (license, registration, etc) then pay. Everything is illegal for us now, we have no rights, and our privileges are reducing daily, by design, of course! The truth is, there was never an “American Dream”, what it really is, is our worst nightmare.
“No private person has a right to complain by suit in court on the ground of a breach of the United States constitution; for, though the constitution is a compact, he is not a party to it.” Padelford Fay & Co v. The Mayor and Alderman of the City of Savannah 14, Georgia 438, 520.

I figured you were but it gives one the opportunity to inform others who may be new to the movement.

Wow. No hesitation there. A legal smack down.
Thanks.

Resistance is futile. We are your masters now.
Does anyone believe that this reality is the natural growth or maturation of the evolutionary process for humans?? I mean WTF? Destroy critical thinking, remove cursive writing and history and PE from the curriculum, allow the constant murder and mayhem on TV and movies to infest the young’s minds, go to war all over the world murdering and torturing innocent people, toppling their governments, etc.???
Reporter: “Mr. Gandhi, what do you think of Western Civilization?”
Mr. Gandhi: “I think it would be a good idea!”
They forgot the other option that would suit this line of (fascist) thinking: Labour camp.
One way to deal with this would be to ignore the highschool diploma entirely and have job applicants submit to a standardized 8 hour two-day exam covering maths, essay, civics (non-communist, pro-American), history (non-communist, pro-American), 2 foreign languages that can not be Spanish etc. at the niveau of the Russian education system. This one seems to be the best at the moment
This would have kids cutting government school classes to prepare for the real test, create a market for tutors and textbook and delete liberal and leftist influence. What’s more, it does not require the cooperation of the US education system and there is little they can do about it if all of the sudden their highschool diploma is not considered anymore for employment, but an independent testing standard is.
This is more b.s from the communists that wish to Kontrol the plebes.
I am from the government and I am here to help.
Well , how ’bout this, “I came here to chew bubble gum and kick ass and I’m all out of bubble gum.” Roddy Mcdowall, They Live.
Rahm the communist, they are not your kids Chicago is not your kingdom.
I hate to recommend this, BUT..
Just lie. Sign up for community college, get your diploma, and then tell the college you changed your mind.
What are they going to do? Come to your house and rescind your HS diploma?
With 40-50% of today’s jobs slated to disappear in 10-20 years, spending $100-$200K on a college education for those who don’t have a dream (“I want to be an architect” as an example) is not spending your money wisely – there is no return on the dollar.
What a great way to feed thousands of students into the Military Industrial Complex!! The war machine needs more bodies! Plenty more wars are planned! Mayor Emmanuel knows EXACTLY what he is doing. How do you think he got Obama elected President?
Why would they address the root of the problem? They WANT it to get worse so they can bring in even more draconian “solutions” (?) down the road. This is a great example of Problem- Reaction- Solution.
Lastly, there is nothing “terrible” about Chicago’s schools. They are destroying the youth, providing jobs for many Democratic party activists, allowing insiders to get rich off of them and they are the breeding ground for many more problems such as increased drug abuse. Even MORE Problem- Reaction – Solution. They are working exactly as planned.
Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated, your “biological and technological distinctiveness” will be added to the collective.
We will determine where you will best serve the State. You will become one with the Liberal Socialist movement.
Hey….You Yankees do as you wish…. But such nonsense would not be considered in the South…
So…the rules for obtaining HS diploma changes after the kids have enrolled. Like ‘bait & switch”…..typical of shysters like R Emanuel. Now, kids will be thoroughly justified dropping out of school at any age….I would too, knowing that only corruption lies at the top of the ladder.
