Are YOU EMP-Prepared?

What’s EMP, readers may be asking? It refers to Electromagnetic Pulses, and warfare! Yes, warfare, which very few folks realize probably will become the choice “winner takes all spoils” eventual destructive weapon of modern civilization. Why do I say that? The reason is because an EMP is stealth and takes down everything in modern life that depends upon electricity and/or computers.

It causes a devastating destruction of a society’s lifestyle and facilities that are dependent upon electricity, computers and ‘smart’ gadgets that have left us ‘impotent’ in self-sufficiency. The ultimate ‘shock wave’ will occur when humans have to find a way to survive, if they have survived!

Probably readers are familiar with what can happen when high-powered sunspots occur. We are warned that the power grid can be taken down or satellites become endangered. Well, a newer genre of man-made technological warfare revolves around EMPs, which several nations [6] now have, including those that may be considered as rogue countries. [5]

EMPs can affect extremely large geographical areas, which probably could take modern lifestyles back into the Dark or Medieval Ages lifestyles, since everyone anymore is so tech-savvy that hardly anyone knows how to grow his/her own food or realizes what’s needed for survival without electricity-run ‘smart’ devices.

Recently, a very kind networker shared with me information about EMP preparedness, plus a forthcoming book that deals with prepping for an EMP attack—either solar or man-made. The book is to be published in the Fall of 2015. In the meantime, the book’s author has prepared an 18-page Special Report titled the same as the forthcoming book, “One Second After the Lights Go Out: A Complete EMP Survival Handbook.”

May I heartily suggest readers print, study, save and even implement that Special Report—just in case! With talk of Jade Helm 15 plus ongoing covert activities, one never knows what will happen anymore. After reading that special report, I thought I’d share the information with my readers so you can be forewarned and prepared rather than caught off guard, especially since the author, Lisa Bedford, covers a lot of territory, situations, and suggestions.

One suggestion, however, that I did not find in that Special Report is this, which I think every person and family ought to consider: Acquire a basic—the less fancy and less high tech, the better—two-wheel bicycle or a large tricycle with side car and/or basket for packages as means of transportation because gasoline pumps will not work, cars run on computers probably will be ‘dead’, but you still can be mobile and capable of getting around. Probably the best idea I have to offer is to acquire a basic sturdy bike for every adult in the family and if there are kiddies, get a tandem trike/bike with cargo basket. [1,2] Don’t forget baskets for all bikes; they won’t be like a car trunk, but they will help to carry things. Pedal-power just may become the only mode of transportation.

Furthermore, I advocate being sensible about bikes. I suggest checking out used bikes on the Internet or at garage sales. At least one or two members of every family should have “wheels” to get around, as modern cars probably won’t be able to run because of all the electronic technology they need to operate. Plus, gasoline will not be able to be pumped, since electricity is needed to operate the pumps.

There are additional items I think should be on the bike list and that is a manual air pump to keep tires inflated. [3,4] Remember, it has to be manually operated—no electric powered air pump! Also, helmets for riders are a must!

If readers think all the above is rather far-fetched, please consider what can happen with everything that’s going to be needed for basic survival, e.g., a manual can opener or two, wooden matches (a few boxes), solar powered battery-operated radios, lights and whatever, candles, etc. Just think of all the gear you need for camping in the woods for a week. Now, multiply that by an indefinite period of time—say a few months to a maybe a year or more, depending upon the scope and power of the EMP attack(s), plus resources left intact and available for reconstruction.

Folks, that’s the ‘hard core’ reality of living in a tech world. Especially, if or when we will be forced to push a restart button on life and living which regressed into conditions no one can imagine nor want to think about now while using all our ‘smart’ gadgets and toys. In the Resources I’ve listed some prepper sites online to check out, if you haven’t given that idea any thought before. We are living in a very vulnerable technological age. Somehow I’m reminded of what ‘mythology’ claims happened to the highly advanced people of Atlantis. Supposedly, they monkeyed around with their high tech energy beams that caused the continent to break up into several sections, each eventually sinking to the bottom of the ocean.

I wish I didn’t feel compelled to write this, but who knows what the crazies of the world may be planning.
