Calls for peace and liberty fuel the Rock the Revolution Tour.
As around 90% of the American public disapproves of their government, and increasing numbers join the “Occupy Wall Street” protest, an anti-establishment uprising clearly seems to be percolating. People are fed up with the wars, crony capitalism, bankster bailouts, and the erosion of their freedoms. As with other revolutionary eras in history when such discontent boiled over, people are finding solidarity in music.
The late ’60s brought together peace and civil liberties activists who celebrated their struggle through a diverse range of music. Now, a new rock tour kicks off to defend these same principles in a time of endless wars, citizen “watch lists”, and TSA molestation. The grassroots Rock the Revolution Tour kicks off this October with underground artists ranging from folk rock, heavy metal, to hip hop.

The one thing these protest artists share is support for 2012 presidential candidate Ron Paul. The tour, organized by Zak Carter, a US Army veteran of Kosovo and Iraq and Ron Paul supporter, has been dubbed “Paulapalooza” because of the variety music styles represented.
That’s right, Congressman Ron Paul has so much grassroots enthusiasm that it has sparked a traveling music festival. Other candidates only dream of such support. Sure, Obama may draw Lady Gaga for a one-time event, but a full-blown musicfest is unheard of for any modern-day political candidate. In today’s corrupt world, Ron Paul’s firm stance on peace and freedom makes him anti-establishment, which resonates deeply with the angry masses regardless of their traditional political affiliation.
