NEW YORK (AFP) – US stocks plunged more than two percent as markets opened on Thursday, following a stark warning by the Federal Reserve about the health of the US economy.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 2.6 percent in the first 10 minutes of trade, while the broader S&P 500 was down 2.4 percent and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite slumped 2.3 percent.
