Well, there you have it folks, in spite of Obama’s hollow promises of no boots on the ground in Libya, Pentagon spokesman Captain John Kirby finally confirmed that there are U.S. troops present in the still war-torn North African nation.
Allegedly there are only four troops present working under the auspices of the State Department to help in the reconstruction of the American Embassy to Libya.
However, those of us who are informed know that there have been Western troops on the ground in Libya long before the United Nations Security Council even put the resolution to “protect civilians” on the table.
This fact was reported by the Daily Mail and was quickly ignored by the mainstream Western media.
Then, just last month, the Daily Mail once again revealed that there was a strong British military presence (disguised as Arabs) on the ground assisting in the search for Qaddafi.
Later, Al Jazeera published visual evidence of other Western troops present in Libya as you can see in the following video.
Now it has become plain to see that American troops are present there as well, although the State Department is making the somewhat absurd claim that they are not going to fight in Libya.
The spokesperson for the Department of State, Victoria Nuland, claimed today that, “When the president made his commitment to ‘no boots on the ground’ … obviously that had to do with entering into the fray between the Qaddafi forces and the Libyan freedom fighters, and that’s not what these guys are engaged in,” according to Fox News.
I guess it is silly for the American people to think that Obama or any of the other Washington criminal elite would bother saying what they mean or giving us an accurate picture of their intentions. Whatever shred of legitimacy Obama had left is slowly being whittled away by these constant statements couched in absurdist Orwellian doublethink.
“No boots on the ground” can mean whatever they want it to mean so long as they tell us that “obviously” it means something else entirely than “no boots on the ground,” which is (or at least should be) quite a simple and straightforward statement.
That is like saying “no guns at the party” after which you show up with two large machine guns in each hand but attempt to vindicate yourself by saying, “obviously that had to do with shooting people, and that’s not why I have these two giant guns.”
The logic is laughable to say the least and unfortunately it is becoming Washington’s preferred operational procedure to liberally apply rhetoric and then mop it up with accurate statements after the fact.
The American forces that are admittedly on the ground now in fact will be armed. Of course this isn’t to engage militarily, but instead just in case they need to protect themselves.
Right, just like the guy who shows up at a party with two giant machine guns would be seen by partygoers to have no malicious intent, armed soldiers (two of which are explosives experts according to Kirby) will be seen by the Libyans as regular guys just there to help out.
The American government is claiming that these troops will depart, according to Fox News once the “assessment of the embassy is complete”. Just like our mission was accomplished in Iraq years ago, these troops will leave once their work is done. If you’re gullible enough to believe that I have some fantastic oceanfront property in Oklahoma that I can sell you at a steal.
Even Fox News, a pro-war and pro-Bush news outlet who has carried water for our military adventures for years, has to acknowledge that this is not the first report of American troops on the ground in Libya.
Justin Fishel writes:
Since then, U.S. officials speaking on the condition of anonymity have acknowledged the CIA has had a small number of so-called ‘spotters’ on the ground to assist in the NATO mission. It’s also well known that other foreign governments have sent special operations forces to fight on the ground with the rebels.
Of course the “other foreign governments” include the many confirmed British Special Forces troops present in Libya which we have discussed at length.
Even more telling than these facts is the alarming reality that Kirby would not confirm if there were plans in the works to deploy more American troops to Libya. This is a classic move to create “plausible deniability” for the Pentagon and the State Department so they can later deploy more troops without having to admit they lied.
The former United States Ambassador to the United Nations, John Bolton, gave great insight into the faulty logic that allows such egregious lies and deception to go unchecked in Washington.
In a statement to Fox News, Bolton said that openly admitting American troops on the ground in Libya is “no big deal,” due to the fact that the American Embassy had been “trashed.”
Bolton is appealing to the Vienna Conventions while selectively ignoring the fact that so many Western powers have violated the Conventions by stealing Libyan property and giving it to al Qaeda-affiliated, non-democratic rebels who have fraudulently claimed power in Libya with the help of the imperialist NATO forces.
These statements from Bolton, Kirby and Nuland are an affront to every American’s intelligence and as an informed citizen of the United States I am deeply offended that they would actually have the gall to spit in my face with these statements.
The simple fact is that Western boots have been on the ground in Libya since day one and this war is one fomented and funded by the West.
It is neither a natural nor democratic revolution, and one must only take a quick glance at what the rebel NTC has done since they have grabbed control of Libya with the help of the West.
Since the incompetent rebels seem completely incapable of taking control of the entirety of Libya thanks to forces still loyal to Qaddafi, I think it is safe to assume that more U.S. troops will be deployed.
Of course more Orwellian language will be utilized to attempt to distract from the reality of another Afghanistan-style nation building project unfolding before our eyes. But those in the know, like my readers, will see beyond this veil immediately.
