Chuck Marr goes through the CBO’s inequality data and pulls out this striking finding:
This wouldn’t be such a big deal if the middle class was also enjoying large wage gains. But it hasn’t been. We’ve seen an explosion of income growth at the top and stagnation in the middle. And public policy has been driven by the Republican Party’s determination to use the tax code to aggravate the trend.
