Newsweek: Marjorie Taylor Greene Vows To Expose ‘Truth’ About COVID Vaccines

Marjorie Taylor Greene has said that she will be “exposing the TRUTH” about COVID jabs at a hearing she is holding on the “injuries” allegedly caused by coronavirus vaccines.

The Georgia Republican representative, who was previously suspended from X, called Twitter at the time, over claims about the vaccines, will be joined by a panel of “expert witnesses” during the event on Monday afternoon. She claimed: “They lied to us for years.”

Newsweek approached Greene’s office via email for comment on Monday. Claims that COVID-19 vaccines cause health problems or increase the chance of death are often made by groups opposed to vaccination and used in conspiracy theories concerning supposed population control.

Many anti-vaccination activists have attempted to link deaths among athletes and other notable figures to being vaccinated—especially those who otherwise appeared healthy before having a cardiac arrest. The phrase “died suddenly” has become a dogwhistle for such assertions.

Some claimed that the heart attack suffered by LeBron James’ son was the result of being vaccinated, while others speculated that the death of one half of a pair of Trump-supporting sisters who had often used their platform to question COVID vaccine policy was caused by being vaccinated, including Greene.

In March, an anti-vax group erected what they called a “COVID vaccine death memorial” in Canberra, Australia. Authorities told Newsweek at the time that “the link between the vaccine and death is usually coincidental.”

Nursing Home Residents Died in Droves During COVID — Because Policymakers Ignored Decades of Scientific Evidence

If public health officials had applied the standard epidemiological models used before COVID-19 to inform infectious disease policy, it would have been clear in advance that their COVID-19 policies would lead to the “worst possible outcomes” for the vulnerable, according to a peer-reviewed study published Oct. 20 in PLOS ONE.

For 18 months, people were restricted, limited or discouraged from visiting their vulnerable loved ones in nursing homes. Between March 2020 and June 2021, 187,000 residents and staff of nursing homes in the U.S. died. At the start of that period, at least five governors, including Gov. Andrew Cuomo in New York, ordered nursing homes to readmit sick elderly people who had been sent to hospitals with a COVID-19 diagnosis. Many argued this practice led to massive numbers of nursing home residents dying at the start of the pandemic.

Martin Kulldorff, Ph.D., called that decision “criminal” in his March testimony to the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic.

In the first six months after the declaration of the pandemic, 69% of deaths in Canada attributed to COVID-19 happened in care homes — a rate higher than any other wealthy country — according to a report by the Canadian Institute for Health Information. That report found the total number of resident deaths was higher than in the years prior to the pandemic, even in places with fewer COVID-19 deaths, which it attributed to the effects of lockdown and isolation measures on care home residents.

“The proportion of residents who had no contact with a loved one tripled in the first wave, compared with previous years. Residents who had no contact with family and friends were more likely to be assessed with depression,” the report said.

The situation got so bad for elderly and vulnerable people isolated in care homes during those first six months, that in Ontario and Quebec, 1,500 members of the Canadian Armed Forces were deployed to 32 of the “most severely impacted homes,” where they found levels of neglect and abuse so severe that residents were dying from thirst and malnourishment. But the dire outcomes in care homes during the first six months of the pandemic had no impact on national or state policies for care homes during the second wave of COVID-19 in the fall of 2020, the CBC reported.

CDC Reports Largest Infant Mortality Rate Increase in 20 Years 11/13/23

After falling since 2021, the U.S. infant mortality rate rose 3% during the 2021-2022 period studied by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Possible explanations included restricted healthcare access and economic instability during the COVID-19 pandemic were possible explanations.

U.S. infant mortality from all causes rose 3% in the year 2021 to 2022 — the first increase since 2001, according to a report from the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS). The trend represents a sharp reversal, as between 2000 and 2020, infant deaths decreased by 21%….

The COVID-19 vaccines were authorized for pregnant women in April 2021, so vaccination could have affected the survivability of their fetuses and newborns within the study period. However, the NCHS found that Blacks were more than 3 times more likely than whites to refuse vaccination, and also experienced a much smaller increase in infant mortality. Asian Americans were 56% more likely than whites to refuse vaccination and their mortality rates improved.
