Freedom of What? Poll Finds Most Americans Still Clueless About The First Amendment says.
“While almost everyone knows about freedom of speech (74% of respondents named it), the other four rights protected by this crucial amendment are far more problematic for Americans to name. Only 39% mentioned freedom of religion, 29% noted freedom of the press, 27% recalled the right to assembly, and a mere 11% identified the right to petition the government.”
This widespread lack of understanding of the critical importance of the First Amendment of the US Constitution helps explain why so many Americans cooperated with the COVID policies that overrode those rights. Even top doctors and scientists lost Freedom of Speech. We lost Freedom of the Press, Freedom of Assembly, and Freedom of Religion. All for a virus that the CDC stats showed threatened almost no one and for which several inexpensive treatments were widely available in early 2020 – including HCQ, Ivermectin, vitamin D, vitamin C, and budesonide.
Now, the government and corporate media are attempting to further undermine The First Amendment – the cornerstone of our God-given rights and freedoms protected by the US Constitution.
Beginning in 2010, with the opening of Hillsdale College’s Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship on Capitol Hill, the College has hosted an annual Constitution Day Celebration in or near Washington, D.C. to commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787. The program—which features speeches, debates, and roundtable discussions—explores the continuing relevance of the Founders’ Constitution for American politics today.

NY Times Calls US Constitution Dangerous!
The Constitution Is Sacred. Is It Also Dangerous? 8/31/24
One of the biggest threats to America’s politics might be the country’s founding document.
The United States Constitution is in trouble. After Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, he called for the “termination of all rules, regulations and articles, even those found in the Constitution.” Outraged critics denounced him for threatening a document that is supposed to be “sacrosanct.” By announcing his desire to throw off constitutional constraints in order to satisfy his personal ambitions, Trump was making his authoritarian inclinations abundantly clear.
It’s no surprise, then, that liberals charge Trump with being a menace to the Constitution. But his presidency and the prospect of his re-election have also generated another, very different, argument: that Trump owes his political ascent to the Constitution, making him a beneficiary of a document that is essentially antidemocratic and, in this day and age, increasingly dysfunctional.

The Growing Threat To The West
Joe Rogan shows the NYTimes article at about 25 minutes into his 9/4/24 discussion with Dr. Brett Weinstein below who warns about the fusion of corporate and government power shown in the COVID policies. The discussion below begins around 2:25.
Weinstein: We are now watching the fusion of corporate power and governmental power that is the definition of fascism. We’re seeing the breakdown of individual and national sovereignty….It’s clearly the civil liberties that make the West possible and we’re going have to level up quickly. If we are actually going to survive.
Rogan: So, what’s the worst case scenario in your mind with all the competing factors?
Weinstein: I’m concerned that we are facing the last opportunity to wield the power that remains in our Constitution to preserve the West. I really believe the West is a stake in this election…. I truly believe the Republic is in serious jeopardy. However it happened, the Blue Team has become hostile to all of the fundamental values that allow the Republic to function and that undergird the West… That system is incredibly dynamic and powerful. It Increases human well-being at a rate that no other competing system has ever come close to. It’s capacity to generate wealth is incredible, but it is vulnerable.
The reason the Founders of the US carved out all of these counterintuitive rights are in order to stabilize that system, you needed to have an industrial strength document that prevented all sorts of threats from getting anywhere near the core of that system. So, I think the worst case scenario is the next election — November— we don’t beat the cheat margin. The Blue Team remains in power and it dismantles the remaining protections of our civil liberties and the basis of our freedom.
Rogan: What would be the way they would go about doing that?
Weinstein: Well, you saw it—that thing you put up from the New York Times. The First Amendment is already in TREMENDOUS peril. We’ve got Brazil turning off X and threatening to ruin in anybody who uses a VPN to circumvent their block. You’ve got Pavel Durov (owner of Telegram) effectively taken hostage in France. You have people in Britian being arrested for speaking freely.
The US is in someways the last holdout because our First Amendment is spelled out in very clear terms and it’s difficult to get around it….You and I lived through a time of terrible censorship – but it had to be cryptic. You showed The New Yorks experimenting with how to phrase the argument for unhooking the Constitution so that people would get used to the idea that that was being done FOR them.
Rogan: The Constitution is dangerous – they posed the question:
Weinstein: The Founders of the US enshrined counter-intuitive rights. These were BRILLIANT men. They understood a thing or two about tyranny because they had faced it. They knew that there was no way to eliminate bad speech without eliminating necessary speech…. There’s really uncomfortable stuff that needs to be said and you don’t want anyone to have the power to eliminate that right That’s counterintuitive.…We have to figure out what’s good and what’s right and it has to be debated. Nobody has the position from which to say which speech has no value.
Here’s the frightening part. It’s even frightening to raise this point. That First Amendment is where it is for a reason. It is THE fundamental right.to all of these. They placed the Second Amendment in the back up position. So, I am concerned that we can hear our civil liberties creaking. You can hear that document threatening to give away. You can hear the enemies experimenting with explaining why they’re really the ones who are looking out for your best interests.
Joe Rogan Experience #2198 Bret Weinstein 9/4/24
Dr. Bret Weinstein is an evolutionary biologist, podcaster, and author. He co-wrote “A Hunter-Gatherer’s Guide to the 21st Century: Evolution and the Challenges of Modern Life” with his wife, Dr. Heather Heying, who is also a biologist. They both host the podcast “The DarkHorse Podcast.”
‘How could you possibly gaslight me enough to go along with you on this?’ Rogan asked
Podcaster Joe Rogan shredded The New York Times after one of its writers published a piece asking whether the United States Constitution is itself a threat to democracy. On Sunday, The Times’ book critic Jennifer Szalai penned an article headlined, “The Constitution Is Sacred. Is It Also Dangerous?” that speculated “one of the biggest threats to America’s politics might be the country’s founding document.”
After noting how Trump lost the popular vote but won the presidency in 2016 due to the Electoral College, Szalai suggested there is growing skepticism about the Constitution’s ability to keep “authoritarianism” in check. “Trump owes his political ascent to the Constitution, making him a beneficiary of a document that is essentially antidemocratic and, in this day and age, increasingly dysfunctional,” Szalai wrote.
Rescue The Republic: September 29
Weinstein: All of these maniacs are going to make violence inevitable. We HAVE to avoid that! We absolutely HAVE to avoid that! So, several of us are holding an event on the Capitol Mall on September 29 between the Washington Monument and the WWII Memorial.
That event is called “Rescue The Republic”. It is really about rescuing the republic to save the West. This is an attempt to gather the Unity Movement that is forming. There are transcendent moments in culture. There are moments at which something shifts — a defining moment for a generation. The event we are holding is an attempt to start a new era, to come together to fend off this force that is obviously targeting our civil liberties, our freedom, the very foundations of our system.
We’ve outlined eight pillars – things anyone who understands the value of the West would resonate with. These are just fundamentals…. We’re going to get as many people as we can on The Mall. It could be 50,000 people. That’s not enough. To be able to prevent the other side from being able to cheat its way to victory, there needs to be a massive showing of support for this Unity Coalition. It NOT MAGA although MAGA is PART of that Coalition. We saw that happen when President Trump brought on Bobby Kennedy when Kennedy stepped out of the race. That was the moment at which the idea of unity began to catalyze.
Gathering on The Mall allows us to show how many of us there are and how serious we are about restoring the Republic and returning to the Foundational Principles.
Rescue The Republic Rally To SAVE Western Civilization! w/ Bret Weinstein & Angela McArdle
Rescue the Republic’s Eight Pillars:
- War is always the last resort
- Sanctify and recodify informed consent
- Banish state information control, surveillance & propaganda
- Secure monetary freedom
- Restore family sovereignty
- Enact a rational border policy
- Return to truth-seeking and open dialogue
- End Lawfare and abuse of the judicial system
I’m afraid people will say, “I’m not sure how much my vote counts. I’m not sure what we can do. I’m expecting them to cheat”. Then, we’re going to end up with a result people are going to have a hard time accepting. This is the alternative. If you show up a large group that makes it very clear that there are lots of us who are intent on keeping our rights
I can’t emphasize enough how important it is that we make a strong showing. If you worry that your vote doesn’t count, your physical presence on the Mall, the picture of Americans coming together across ideal Logical divide and joining together in order to rescue the Republic, I believe is the antidote to the cheating that we all fear. If you have half a million people show up, that will make a pretty unambiguous statement!
