285,000+ Teslas Recalled Due To Potential Cruise Control Problem Which Could Cause Accidental Acceleration

Complaints about Teslas include:

• crashes and other potentially fatal mechanical and operational issues (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
• fires that are difficult to extinguish
• rapid battery degradation
• high levels of harmful electromagnetic radiation emissions

Recently the company issued a new warning about another dangerous imperfection in its vehicles.

Thousands Of Tesla Vehicles Recalled Over Potential Cruise Control Problem

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Tesla is recalling more than 285,000 vehicles made in China over a potential cruise control problem.

According to the company, the cruise control system could be activated by mistake, resulting in accidental acceleration.

About 250,000 vehicles, Model 3 and Model Y, made at the Shanghai factory are being recalled.

The problem can be fixed with a free software upgrade either remotely or at a dealership.

In April, Tesla owners wondered aloud about suing the company if “Full Self Driving” is never possible.  Seems reasonable, doesn’t it.
