People worldwide DO NOT WANT “Smart” Meters – electric, gas, and water (see 1, 2). Tens of millions have been installed and millions more are planned despite all their problems – fires, explosions, measurement errors, serious cybersecurity risks (see 1, 2), and more.
Duke Energy customers in several states have also reported issues after the company installed these meters (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9). Last month, a woman named Debbie called the “At Home with Gary Sullivan” radio show and described a dangerous situation that started after Duke Energy installed a new “Smart” Meter on her home.

This radio segment highlights some of the dangers and why you need to OPT OUT of ‘smart’ meters and/or send a Notice of Liability.
On Saturday, September 26, a Duke Energy customer named Debbie called the “At Home with Gary Sullivan” radio show to report serious electrical and health issues that started after the utility installed a new smart meter on the home she shares with her husband, a disabled Vietnam veteran. They now seem to be living mostly on their back porch because of the new meter.
Duke Energy has told them that they can opt out of the Itron smart meter by accepting a different digital meter. She has consulted with an expert who has told her that the replacement meter may not solve all their problems. A whole-home dirty electricity filter such as the SineTamer, which I personally use and will be sharing more about soon, is among the top recommended mitigation solutions to support health and lower utility bills.
After the call ends with Debbie, it’s not the end of the discussion. The radio station airs a few ads and host Gary Sullivan returns to talk more about wireless technology. He mentions 5G, and references Physicians for Safe Technology as a source for additional information.

“Smart” Meters emit high levels of harmful electromagnetic radiation that can cause dangerous electrical issues as well as make people and animals sick (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6). There are undoubtedly countless more stories like Debbie’s that haven’t been widely reported. Unfortunately, “Smart” Meter proponents continue to describe these meters as beneficial to customers and eco-friendly. Nope and Nope. These devices DO NOT save meaningful amounts of energy and customer rates are usually increased for their installation (see 1, 2). Unlike original analog meters, they also need to be replaced frequently. Frequent replacement is NOT eco-friendly AND the cost for this is also usually passed on to customers (see 1, 2).
Utility companies continue to install “Smart” Meters because they benefit THEM. These meters allow them to remotely turn off services as well as ration energy. Because these meters are 2-way transmitting, they also allow utilities to collect minute-by-minute customer usage data 24/7. They collect and analyze this data so they can market more products and services to customers and/or sell data to 3rd parties. Documentary – Take Back Your Power – reveals more ugly details. If any of this concerns you, contact your utility providers and ask to “opt out.”
