“Potentially billions of dollars of damage” has been done by the CIA to tech companies, Assange said, adding trust has been damaged by the revelations, in both the US government and US exports. He later added that some of the fixes to devices exposed as vulnerable by the leak would be quickly fixed but others, including smart TVs, would be more difficult and take longer to fix. [1]
“WikiLeaks has a lot more information,” Assange said, adding that “we have decided to work with them, to give them some exclusive access to some of the technical details we have, so that fixes can be pushed out.” [1]
“Once this material is effectively disarmed we will publish additional details about what has been occurring,” Assange added. [1]
Furthermore, is the U.S. government that paranoid to think everyone is a terrorist when, in many instances, government agencies are caught red-handed being implicated in goof ups regarding security breaches, especially the TSA [2]. “In 2015, it was revealed that TSA had failed 95 percent of the undercover security trials conducted by the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Inspector General.” [2]
This surveillance ‘gig’ the feds are pulling off doesn’t seem to work where and on whom it really should, except to keep in-depth tabs on every citizen in the USA with other co-opters, like utilities AMI smart meters, compromising personal safety and selling personal data to third party marketers.
