Our society has many immature and ignorant members because they are easily manipulated. Schools are turning out uneducated kids that will continue to live in moms basement because they are not developed in being a responsible intelligent citizen.
Millennialis pride themselves as techno savvy but kids their age in the 1800s were running the family business. As intelligence departs, emotion and superstition grows.
Like Carlin said, those in control only want people just smart enough to run the machinery but dumb enough to accept their position. Evil has empowered stupid to destroy their own nation. An emotional and unintelligent person is easily controlled, especially with fear.
We have a nation of children who only know how to follow. This is why Facebook and Twitter are so big. The herd mentality!!!

When you add into the group mental matrix an energy-destroying diet of dead processed foods, dozens of added excito-toxins, hundreds of SSRIs, vaccines and other prescription drugs, a miasma of dirty electrical stimuli known to adversely affect the human nervous system, a filthy water and air supply, and hours upon hours of sitting in one place like an invalid, consuming junk calories and junk media…you have the recipe for a dying civilization. Dying individually from wasted immune systems, soaring rates of cancer, primary organ diseases, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, Alzheimer’s, and all the rest–the new medical “normal.” Dying as a whole from the mental fog of group stupidity, often self-induced.

Odd, when fear is what normally makes a species sharp-witted and fleet of foot. (I was impressed, visiting the San Diego wildlife zoo, at how close to real-life they try to keep the environments for the animals…they put the gazelles and springboks DOWNWIND of the lions, to keep them on their toes.)
However, when you dumb people down enough, and when you keep hammering them with fear of things about which they can do nothing, over which they are powerless, you create the zombie culture which comprises much of the First World nations we see around us today. Up through the 1800s people had plenty of things to be wary of–pirates, bandits, vengeful Native Americans, footpads, snake oil salesmen, pillaging tyrants, robber barons, droughts, starvation, tornados, hurricanes, avalanches, floods, blizzards, deadly snakes, and lions and tigers and bears, oh my!
But they had various defenses and solutions to these threats. They could either DO something, or by God die trying. And here we are, their descendants. The offspring of people who DID something in the face of countless adversities (and SUCCEEDED, or we would not be here). So I wouldn’t count us out just yet.
But you’re right, CS, now they have Oprah and Facebook and Twitter. And of course voting. In a two-party system.

we are witness to the ‘end of empire’ ppl may deny it or hate it or fight it but history shows all empires are born, live and die. again IMHO we burned to bright to fast to last long. now the best we can do is live as well as we may and remember the end that we saw in our times and if possible pass it on to posterity.

You can thank the multi million maybe billion Christian industry that has control of our media and society telling us to *feel* from our hearts. It just doesn’t work.
That’s the good thing about atheism and I find it funny that more and more Atheists are actually able to quote the bible more then Christians who stumble around in the dark.
