Recently, I was asked to review the Health Ranger Mike Adams’s new book, Food Forensics, prepublication manuscript, and was totally impressed, especially since I was in the process of finishing writing my new book, Eat To Beat Disease, Foods Medicinal Qualities©, which will be out sometime in the Summer 2016, because both books truly complement each other.
Mike operates the Food Forensics Laboratory wherein all types of foods are assayed for various components, especially looking for what’s called toxic or heavy metals that negatively impact health. Mike’s book exposes the nutritional hazards found in foods while my new book explains how food is handled in the body almost like medicine, confirming what Hippocrates taught so long ago: “Let food by thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”
Food Forensics discusses many of the results found from testing junk foods, fast foods, super foods, herbal supplements, vitamins, and much more. It truly is surprising to learn just what really is in foods that purveyors don’t want consumers to know. Or, as Mike pointed out, when lab tests confirmed certain toxins and reported them to suppliers. The manufacturer/supplier virtually blew him off saying, basically, not to bother them since the U.S. FDA has no Recommended Daily Allowances for them. How outrageous!
I guess Mike’s receiving that remark a few times prompted him to write an exceptional “inside edition” – literally – of what’s inside the foods we buy, including some organically grown toxic metal problem foods.
I was disturbed, as Mike probably was, to find that organically-grown foods coming from China are very questionable as to their nutritional safety, insofar as many of them contain toxic metals like tungsten, one of the ingredients for which Adams was told “the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has no limits on tungsten.” One of the adverse health effects from tungsten can be stroke! Tungsten likes to hang up in the bones; it leads to hypocalcaemia; and can cause seizures, coma, and encephalopathy. Dermatitis often appears in metal workers working with it. So, how does tungsten get into Chinese-grown food products? Mike talks about that and other metals in detail in the book.
However, and as a brief point of reference, in China a lot of industrial waste waters are used to irrigate crops, including organically-grown, while there seems to be no oversight to prevent that happening. Similar type toxic and/or chemical contamination problems probably could result in USA-grown organics IF fracking waste water is used to irrigate crops [1-2].
In his book, Mike tells of finding arsenic (As#33), cadmium (Cd#48), lead (Pb#82), mercury (Hg#80), and tungsten (Ti#22) [3] in various foods. He talks about finding mercury in cat and dog treats; cadmium, lead, and tungsten in rice protein powder; lead in brand-name mascara products; and the lists go on.
The book is written in three parts: Everything You Want to Know About Toxic Elements; The Health Ranger’s Guide to Natural Detoxification; and The Data, which contains 954 citations – quite a book! My book doesn’t come near that; it has only 256 footnotes.
Food Forensics definitely is a “must have” book for serious-minded researchers, healthcare practitioners and consumers, plus everyone who eats! If you’d like to obtain this book, currently there’s a pre-publication order form for the book on Amazon.com at this link.
I highly recommend it! It’s a virtual ‘encyclopedia’ about toxins we don’t know about in our foods.

I truly wish people in the alt news business would get educated at how
advanced NanoFood Technology is in many of our foods
Nano bots are a trillion dollar a year business. Nanofoods are in over 800 foods since 2000, totally unregulated and Big NanoFood have plans to ramp up to all foods. Please educate yourself.
