Documents Prove That Homeland Security Is Being Armed By US Military

This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence — economic, political, even spiritual — is felt in every city, every State house, every office of the Federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society.

In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.

We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together. — Military-Industrial Complex Speech, Dwight D. Eisenhower, 1961

Eisenhower’s warning to the American people over 50 years ago has been largely forgotten by most, but, like most warnings, is heeded too late. The Prophetess Cassandra, cursed by the gods, was ignored when she warned that Troy would soon be invaded.

Recently, documents reviewed in the Federal Business Online website revealed a troubling discovery relating to the incestuous relationship within the Federal Government.

It may have been perceived or even an open secret, but the Department of Defense has been with the Department of Homeland Security to provide them with massive amounts of fully automatic weapons. Weapons that have been banned from the general population for nearly 80 years.

In a solicitation for 370 Colt M4 weapons, 209 of which are fully automatic, the Customs Border Protection (CBP) agency, a part of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), requested the following:

90 Colt M4-A1 (For duty)
109 Colt M4-A1 (For training)
160 Colt M4-LE (For Training)

The Colt M4-LE is strictly a semi-automatic weapon used by civilian law enforcement.

From the Colt website:

Throughout the world today, the Colt M4’s reliability, performance, and accuracy provide joint coalition forces with the confidence required to accomplish any mission. Designed specifically for lightweight mobility, speed of target acquisition, and potent firepower capability – the M4 delivers. The M4 can be comfortably carried, yet be instantly available to provide the level of firepower, dependability and accuracy of a 5.56mm rifle. Proven in military combat operations all over the world, it is in a class by itself as a first rate combat weapon system. The Colt M4 Carbine serves as the United States Armed Forces’ weapon of choice and the weapon of the 21st century warfighter. The Colt M4 is the ONLY 5.56mm carbine in the world today that is manufactured to meet or exceed the stringent performance specifications (MILSPEC) required for acceptance and use by the U.S. Armed Forces. (emphasis added)

The emphasized portions help point out the problem. The DHS is not engaged in an active war, but rather seems to be stockpiling in advance for a war against the American public. The military hardware being provided to local police departments is a technique known as “Forward Placement”, or “Putting your stuff where you need it, just in case you need it”.

While a “less-than-lethal” grenade launcher seems to be an oxymoron, the Colt website describes the grenade launcher as:

The Colt M203 Grenade Launcher is a lightweight, single-shot, breech-loaded 40mm weapon specifically designed to be attached to the M4 Carbine and the M16A2 and A4 Rifles. It creates a versatile combination weapon system, capable of firing both 5.56mm rifle ammunition as well as the complete range of 40mm high explosive and special purpose ammunitions. A complete self-cocking firing mechanism, including barrel latch, trigger and positive safety lever is included in the receiver, which allows the M203 to be operated as a completely independent weapon even though attached to the Colt M4 Carbine or the Colt M16A4 Rifle. The M203 provides Colt M4 Carbines and Colt M16A2/A4 Rifles with breaching, defilade, and area engagement capabilities, making it an essential tool for every modern army. (emphasis added)

“Less-than-lethal” seems to mean that whomever is firing the grenade won’t be close enough to be hurt by the blast. Many fires, such as at the Branch Davidian compound, were set by using tear gas fired by a grenade launcher.

The questions that everyone should be asking are as follows:

Why does a civilian law enforcement agency (CBP) require even more fully automatic weapons?
When was the last time fully automatic weapons were required of CPB agents in the line of duty?
How long as the DOD been supplying Homeland Security with fully automatic weapons, or any other military-grade weapons?
Why aren’t the FBI, US Coast Guard, and US Federal Marshals used in lieu of DHS employees for conducting raids and interdictions?
What safeguards do the American People have to protect themselves from a power mad government being led by a mad man?
Who is authorizing these hardware purchases, and what are the REAL reasons to be buying hardware without a clear need being presented.

Despite these questions never being asked, are those of us asking these questions and demanding answers being treated like Cassandra? Absolutely!

Mocking, belittlement, and humiliation are the first tools in a tyrant’s toolbox to silence his opponents.

And then comes the military-grade hardware.

Beware the Military-Industrial complex. It may be at your door very soon.
