Bilderberg Controlled Media: Amazon founder buys Washington Post

Incestuous media breeds an ignorant public.

Now we know at least one of the reasons why billionaire Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos has been attending Bilderberg with frequency in the past few years.

Bezos just announced his purchase of the Washington Post, long owned by the Graham family. Reuters reported:

Amazon Inc founder Jeff Bezos has agreed to buy the newspaper assets of the Washington Post Co, including its flagship daily, for $250 million.

Washington Post Chairman and Chief Executive Donald E. Graham, whose family owns the paper, said it would be better served with another owner.

Both Jeff Bezos and Donald Graham are frequent attendees at the secretive Bilderberg confab, though it’s not clear if they ever attended simultaneously. As owners of the Washington Post, both Donald and his mother Katherine Graham (now deceased) have been long time attendees and close collaborators in carrying its agenda while maintaining quiet about the influential meeting itself. This is evident in David Rockefeller’s well known quote from 1991 at the Baden, Germany Bilderberg meeting:

We are grateful to the Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. [emphasis added]

Today’s world has shifted towards technological developments in society, and Bilderberg has reflected this in its attendee rosters, inviting some of the most important directors, founders and owners of the biggest tech firms, including Microsoft, Google and Facebook. Likewise, key players in the old line print media have formed new partnerships with the today’s tech firms. Donald Graham, for instance, now sits on the Facebook board of directors, as does Bilderberg steering committee member and early Facebook investor Peter Thiel. Similarly,Thomas Ryder of Reader’s Digest sits on Amazon.com’s Board of Directors, showing a trend in print giants joining with new tech giants.

These technocrats and investment banker types have their fingers in many pies, to be sure. The now publicly discussed relationship between Silicon Valley’s top tech firms and NSA surveillance operations (as with Microsoft) is evident in the attendees list at the secretive Bilderberg meetings that take place annually in Europe and the United States.

Take, for example, the 2011 Bilderberg meeting in St. Moritz, Switzerland where NSA chief Keith B. Alexander met alongside such attendees as PayPal founder/Silicon Valley invester Peter Thiel and Microsoft executive Craig J. Mundie (both Bilderberg steering members) as well as the likes of Google’s Eric Schmidt, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes and LinkedIn’s Reid Hoffman.

The media consolidation has long come under fire for the bias evident in so few owners and its effect on news quality and content. How much more significant are the ties between Silicon Valley data shares with government metadata surveillance programs given the influence of such publishing families as Donald Graham @ Facebook?

Edward Snowden’s PRISM leak story, for example, was offered to the Washington Post as an exclusive, but instead broke into one of the biggest stories of the year through Glenn Greenwald and the London Guardian.
