Andrew Detemer, age 16, has recently released a perfect rundown of the issues concerning genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in the food supply.
Featured in the documentary are the following types of experts: an author, farmer, dietitian, and former investigative reporter, Ben Swann. It addresses the politics, legal aspects like patents, conflicts of interest, safety and more, in an objective manner.
This concise, short documentary is perfect to show family or friends – even ones who have yet to discover what, exactly, are GMOs. Yet, it delivers a refresher course to those who are familiar with all angles of genetic modification but want easy-to-remember, accurate information at the ready.
In just seven minutes, everyone can be up to speed about genetic modification in a “just-the-facts” manner without the emotionalism found in some longer documentaries.
*Note: Genetically modified tomatoes are not on the market. The case of farmers preemptively suing to protect themselves from Monsanto’s litigation was thrown from the Supreme Court – meaning, Monsanto can sue farmers when their patented seeds contaminate that farmer’s crop.
