Huckabee: No Two-State Solution
Former Baptist pastor Mike Huckabee says it would be unfair to make Israel give back the land that it stole after the 1967.

Mike Huckabee, U.S. President Donald Trump’s pick for Israel ambassador, spoke to All Israel about a 90-minute meeting he attended last week with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and 14 prominent Evangelical and how there was “recognition that there was no support for this continued, failed policy of a two-state solution.”
Huckabee, a former Baptist pastor and the one-time governor of Arkansas, told the outlet that there is no greater supporter of Israel than American Evangelicals, which Netanyahu, no doubt, already knew. Mike Huckabee reiterated his stance on supporting Israel in various forums.
He said it would be unfair to make Israel give up land (that it stole after the 1967 war) and “put those who wish to harm them closer to them and in a position of authority.”
Huckabee said that he did not want to speak for Trump, but suggested that one of the ideas that should be looked into is the “resettlement of Palestinians in the Sinai, in Egypt, in Jordan, in the UAE and Qatar,” which seems to be on the same page as the president.
“Those are all options,” Huckabee said. “But the idea that we’re going to somehow force Israel to give up its territory, its land, its sovereignty, and put themselves in harm’s way as they were on Oct. 7, I think that’s the one thing nobody is saying, ‘That’s a great idea,’ because it hasn’t proven to work.”
Netanyahu is famous for relying on Evangelical support in the U.S. to maintain his grip on power in the states. U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson represents the Evangelical zealots in the House who back bills to fund Israel’s wars and believe they have a biblical obligation to support the country.
Johnson said last year that most Americans understand the importance of supporting Israel because the Israelis are fighting for their “very existence.”
“For those of us who are believers, it’s a biblical admonition to stand with Israel. We will and they will prevail,” he said.
Huckabee said in February that Israel may be occupying the territory, but “it is an occupation of land that God gave them 3,500 years ago.”
Mike Huckabee told a podcast, “In Genesis, when we’re told that God will bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel. I’m simple-minded enough to say, ‘There it is. What am I gonna do? I’m gonna believe that.’”
TRENDPOST: Bloomberg ran an article just weeks after the 7 October Hamas invasion noting that there is a “significant section of evangelicals” who are part of the U.S. Republican Party that says bloodshed in Israel “will pave the way for the second coming of Christ.” Mike Huckabee has often cited biblical references to support his views on Israel.
