Janet Phelan was born in California and educated at Grinnell College, UC Berkeley and University of Missouri-Columbia Graduate School of Journalism. Her articles have appeared in regional, national and international publications. Her first book, The Hitler Poems, was published in 2005. She currently resides abroad.
