Fake News is kind of like the new “conspiracy theorist” label that gets thrown toward independent voices who question anything coming from establishment sources and mainstream media.
However, as Melissa Dykes shows in this video, those establishment sources have been outright lying and propagandizing for decades. The most recent debacle from ABC News showing a Kentucky gun range as a bombing in Syria is a wonderfully obvious example. Melissa provides some other obvious recent examples, including the rise of Deep Fakes.
It’s also worth keeping in mind that it is now legal for the U.S. government to use propaganda against American citizens.
