However, what I fear more than filters is that in the near future, finding the “truth” will be near impossible to do. We get to our version of the “truth” through the analysis of facts coupled with our knowledge and experiences, sprinkled with common sense and logic.
What is being pushed is the cloud. Where data all resides in a digital format under someone elses protection and control (think Utah Data Center). I see a future where the hard drive disappears and all data goes to the cloud. How convenient for those that want to rewrite history fast and easy to have access to all copies of a newspaper or book or article or photo. Remember Winston’s job in 1984?
Video’s of the Mandela Effect are circulating recently. Why? I fear we are being conditioned for a re-write of history in the future. Once personal hard drives and storage goes away and younger generations don’t keep paper copies of anything – how easy will it be to change history? Couple that with the technology that can create video’s of you saying things you never said and doing things you never did – than reality is totally controlled by the controllers.
So – are you using the cloud? Will you accept the loss of a hard drive or UBS terminal to plug your thumb drive into in the future? My guess is that more will. It will not only give them the ability to rewrite history but an economic boom as all copyrighted materials will require payment to forward to a friend.

That ‘near future’ to which you refer is already here and past. It happened as you wrote those sentences. You point out something really obvious if one pays attention. There is no longer Objective Truth. We as human beings, as well as other subjective animals in Nature have created our own individualized truth/s based upon our subjective perceptions of what we rationalize Objective Truth to be.
If ALL define a person,place,idea,thing (Noun) then, that Noun will cease to exist for it cannot be ALL to ALL. Although I’m sure a theological person could abject to that statement and suggest it proves existence of some Divinity, as that is exactly what the Christian god is said to have called itself, “I am that I am”. That statement, I am that I am, refers to a being that “becomes” whatever/whoever is needed as it is needed. We can now start to barely see a demonstration of this “becoming” now as science learns of black holes.
Despite that, I still posit Objective Truth does not exist. Not sure it ever did. Perhaps, it is kin to the I that is that I am. If so, then it is ALL and does not need to exist because ALL exists.
Let NSA, er Alphabet, er Google filter that if desires. I’ll continue using Duckduckgo, Startpage. By the by, NSA uses Hardoop servers for its big data needs. This sets up a basic relational database on an Apache Web Server, from there Perl, Python, Javascript, Jave, C, C++, Bash, zshell, korn shell, c shell can all create API hooks to access the data. It has to use relational database as to put it into SQL or a restricted database format does just that, restricts the data as well as sets the data up for being easily corrupted by injection attacks even if it is encrypted. Knew a friend who in what they did not say told me as much.
