Two U.S. Senators Request Dept. of Justice and the FBI Investigate British Intelligence Officer Christopher Steele and His Russia-Trump “Connection” Dossier Paid For by Hillary Clinton

Since the alternate media platform I write for, Activist Post, has been designated as “a Russian operative” by an online ‘screed’, PropOrNot, and other media such as U.S. News and World Report, I thought I would try to redeem our maliciously fabricated reputation.

We are patriotic, truly red, white and blue Americans—Liberty and Justice Lovers who believe in exposing facts such as those that appear in actual government documents.

How about the January 4, 2018 U.S. Senate Report signed by Chairman Charles E. Grassley, Committee on the Judiciary, and Chairman Lindsey O. Graham, Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism, Committee of the Judiciary, sent to Rod J. Rosenstein, Deputy Attorney General, U.S. Department of Justice, and Christopher A. Wray, Director, Federal Bureau of Investigation, regarding

…certain communications between Christopher Steele and multiple U.S. news outlets regarding the so-called “Trump dossier” that Mr. Steele compiled on behalf of Fusion GPS for the Clinton Campaign and the Democratic National Committee and also provided to the FBI.

Based on the information contained therein, we are respectfully referring Mr. Steele to you for investigation of potential violations of 18 U.S.C. § 1001, for statements the Committee has reason to believe Mr. Steele made regarding his distribution of information contained in the dossier.”

The eight-page dossier goes on to cite why British Intelligencer Officer Christopher Steele, who presented an apparent questionable, if not totally fake ‘intelligence’ reporting about the Russia-Trump “connection” from inside the Russian government, was requested and paid for by Hillary Clinton, ought to be investigated for “potential violation of 18 U.S.C.§100,” i.e., making false statements is a federal crime.

The Senators stated,

According to the law firm Perkins Coie, Mr. Steele’s dossier-related efforts were funded through Fusion GPS by that law firm on behalf of the Democratic National Committee and the Clinton Campaign.    

Here seems to be the main “sticking point” about Mr. Steele:

Which is it, and shouldn’t the U.S. Congress find out, plus inform the corporate-controlled media and taxpayers about the facts or truth of this most egregious apparent criminal and constitutional matter?

What happens IF that Clinton-paid-for dossier truly was ginned up and fake and the FBI relied upon it to file FISA warrants based upon apparently fallacious geopolitical mischief?

A most critical point of information totally lacking in all the above is pointed out in this sentence:

The application failed to disclose that the identities of Mr. Simpson’s [Glenn Simpson of GPS Fusion] ultimate clients were the Clinton campaign and the DNC.[….]

In short, it appears the FBI relied on admittedly uncorroborated information, funded by and obtained for Secretary Clinton’s presidential campaign, in order to conduct surveillance on an associate of an opposing presidential candidate.[….]

But there is substantial evidence suggesting that Mr. Steele materially misled the FBI about a key aspect of his dossier’s efforts, one which bears on his credibility.

Now here’s something that jumps out from the Senators’ letter:

The September 23 article referred to presumably is the Yahoo News article by Michael Isikoff titled “U.S. Intel Officials Probe Ties Between Trump Adviser and Kremlin.”  [….] “’The FBI does not believe that [Steele] directly provided this information to the press’ (emphasis added).”

The Senators’ letter goes on to say,

Furthermore, in sworn court filings in London, Steele admitted “he gave off the recorded briefings to a small number of journalists about the pre-election memorandum [i.e., the dossier] in late summer/autumn 2016.”  During the London litigation, Steele admitted briefing journalists from The Washington Post, Yahoo News, the New Yorker, and CNN in September 2016.

On page 6 of the Senators’ letter, they state:

It is troubling enough that the Clinton Campaign funded Mr. Steele’s work, but that these Clinton associates were contemporaneously feeding Mr. Steele allegations raises additional concerns about his credibility.

It seems that Steele told the FBI “he had not shared the Carter Page dossier information beyond his client and the FBI.”  Can Steele be trusted either to remember what he did and said, or what should we expect?  Steele apparently was “desperate” to see that Trump was not elected as U.S. president!

Here seems to be the entire legal crux of the Russian-FISA-FBI, Steele-Clinton-Campaign dirty tricks efforts:

And so it is that some members of Congress finally have stood up for and are requesting an investigation of a matter that probably will have reaching legal implications for many Washington, DC elites, politicos and “swamp critters.”  How this political kabuki theater was allowed to go on for so long amazes not only me as a journalist who seeks facts, but also discerning people who realize that if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and walks like a duck, it must be a duck!  The ‘duck’ in this case apparently is a crime being neutralized rather than having been prosecuted.

The dirty tricks political campaign Hillary Clinton orchestrated and paid for probably will go down in history as a classic example of a desperate presidential candidate who not only did in members of her own Democratic party, e.g., Bernie Sanders, but also decimated the DNC and maybe the Democrat Party itself to the point where it will have to restructure and clean up its errant political ways if it wants to be a viable political—not radical—political party in the USA.

Besides the above apparent co-conspirators illegal shenanigans, the 2016 elections story has deeper roots—even to the then-President of the USA, Barack Hussein Obama.  If that be the case, we truly will have had a constitutional crisis on our hands that almost took down the country, in my opinion.  See “FBI texts:  Obama ‘wants to know everything we’re doing’.”
