Have We Lived through a Public Health Holocaust?
More than a year ago, I had written in a Brownstone Journal article that there was virtually universal agreement in this country that things did not go well in terms of the country’s Covid pandemic response. I presented three potential scenarios as to how that happened:
Scenario 1: We handled the pandemic as best we could, given the information we had at the time, but the virulence of the virus was such that the outcome was inevitable. I believe that this view is still held by at least 75% of the public, including healthcare professionals.
Scenario 2: Things didn’t go well because the mitigation modalities put in place (lockdowns, social distancing, school closures, masking, and multiple mRNA jabs) were not sufficiently followed and/or enforced. This view has been largely discredited, but is still held by approximately 5% of the general population, and even a few healthcare professionals.
Scenario 3: Everything that was done was wrong, and was known to be wrong when implemented, such that we would have done much better if we had done absolutely nothing. I’d like to think that approximately 20% of the general population, and an even higher percentage of healthcare professionals hold this view, but I’m afraid this might be an overestimate.
I’ve been in the Scenario 3 camp for quite some time, and I will now proceed to make that case and state its implications.
We’ve known for some time that the Department of Defense took control of the Covid response shortly after the lockdowns in March 2020. The public health leaders, who had to know better, responded by folding like cheap suits, such that their professional cowardice was reminiscent of the WWII concentration camp guards who claimed they were just following orders. In addition, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) became a place where stellar professional reputations went to die. In fact, the situation was so depraved that during 2022, the head of the largest teachers’ union dictated CDC guidelines regarding the education and healthcare of our children!
I’ll now confine my remarks to the Covid shots, recognizing that the origin of the virus, lockdowns, social distancing, school closures, and mask mandates created their own horrors. Note that I use the term shots to describe the Covid injections, since the definition of a vaccine had to be changed in order to use that term. That alone should have raised eyebrows, but it didn’t. In addition, we now know that there were serious adverse event signals within weeks of the mass vaccination campaign, but this information was, and continues to be, suppressed.
The Food and Drug Administration Advisory Committee knew just before approval of the shots for 12 to 17-year-olds in mid-2021 that there were issues with myocarditis, but it had no impact on their deliberations. Excess deaths were not seen in 2020, when the deadliest strains of the virus were circulating, but did occur in 2021, 2022, and 2023, once mass vaccination was implemented. Hardly any of the general public is aware of this. Nor is the public aware that since 2015 (2012 according to Dr Marty Makary, who now heads the Food and Drug Administration), life expectancy in the US has been flat to down!
A study of Cleveland Clinic employees in the spring of 2021 demonstrated that natural immunity was real, and effective, and another study, approximately 18 months later at the same institution, demonstrated that the more Covid shots someone received, the more likely they were to get Covid infection. Did either of these studies change our public health response? No! There was only one study done that lasted as long as 6 months, showing benefit of the original 2-shot regimen in Medicare patients.
Remarkably, there were no follow-up or similar-length studies in any other cohort or in people who received one or more boosters. My interpretation was that patients with a life expectancy of approximately 6 months before the pandemic, who were dying within 2 months when the pandemic hit, may have gotten their 6 months back by taking the initial 2 dose regimen; an interpretation seconded by Dr Jay Bhattacharya, who is now the Director of the National Institutes of Health.
Finally, the notion that 5 million lives were saved in the US was based on the original computer models showing a case/fatality rate of 3.4%, which was >30 times the true rate of approximately 0.1%. The true rate was known early on, but was censored. Did any of this knowledge change the pandemic response? Not at all!
In recent weeks, there’s been a series of revelations that all move in one direction, confirming that Scenario 3 is the only reasonable way to view the events of the past 5 years. These revelations are consistent with the tactics that were used to obtain population and healthcare provider compliance, tactics that came directly from the Nazi propaganda playbook of the 1930s; namely, fear, division, deception, coercion, intimidation, and censorship. Top-down command and control was enhanced by the fact that, as a result of the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare), which I have long referred to as the Fraudulent Care Act, virtually all practicing physicians had become employees of large healthcare systems, with loss of autonomy. This combination of circumstances was deadly!
The latest revelations revolve around confirmation of clear conflicts of interest, deliberate data manipulation, and attribution of adverse outcomes to the virus rather than from its treatment; all of which were used to promote a knowingly false narrative and public health strategy. As someone who practiced rural primary care medicine as a Board Certified Internist from 1980 to 1999, I relied on medical journals to provide the latest studies to direct the treatments I prescribed.
To think that these journals were promoting false information with respect to Covid treatment is something out of a Vincent Price horror movie, except that it really happened. Almost certainly, there will be additional shoes to drop, and they could be even more devastating than what we’ve already seen. Specifically, it’s looking more and more likely that millions upon millions of women and men have been sterilized by these shots. What forum will these people go to for restitution or reparations?
For those who still think I have overstated the level of atrocity that we’ve experienced, I’ll relate a personal story that encapsulates my thinking. In early 2021, my 91-year-old mother suffered a fall that required that someone stay in her apartment 24/7. It took about a week for my sister and me to find someone, so we took turns doing 24-hour shifts in the interim.
By my third shift, I thought my mom had improved enough that when I helped her get into the bathroom, I closed the door. When my mom asked me why I had done that, I told her that I wanted to give her some privacy. Her response was, and I quote: “My son, I think we’re way fucking past that!” That has come to be my response to anyone who tries to diminish or deflect from the level of evil that’s been done in the name of the Covid response. I believe that its scope would turn Josef Mengele green with envy!
The question now is whether those responsible for this catastrophe (and we know who many of them are) will be held accountable for their actions. I’m not optimistic, since too many people would view this as retribution, and would rather just move on (the Scenario 1 crowd). This attitude, of course, makes it all the more likely that these atrocities will recur.
In fact, as I write this, the World Health Organization is making plans for the next pandemic, and it looks eerily similar to what has already been done, but with more vigorous enforcement (consistent with the Scenario 2 crowd). Whatever happened to, Never Again? As for me, I have no interest in doing a remake of the movie, Eyes Wide Shut!
