In a move that is sure to warm the hearts of police state cheerleaders across the nation, school officials in Huntsville announced that they are now spying on students’ social media accounts and, regardless of whether they are public or private, will dole out punishments accordingly.
“We’re going to implement a procedure that directly addresses an area that’s become a real concern again,” Huntsville City Schools Superintendent Casey Wardynski said in a video on the district’s website. “Which is how violence in our schools – how threats to our schools – interact with social media, and how social media can play a role, if we pay attention to it, in heading off problems.”
This new and Orwellian system of state-sponsored spying on children will give administrators the ability to punish students for their posts.
The system is designed to ostensibly track violent students to prevent their violent behavior. However, some feel that this move is a direct attempt to cover for the district’s failure to provide a safe learning environment.
According to AL.com;
The new social media procedure could be used to deter students who post videos of school fights, said Anson Knowles, former Huntsville city school board candidate.
“It is not difficult to see that the superintendent may punish students for posting videos of violence in their schools in an effort to prevent the public from seeing what is happening in the schools,” he said.
He points to one section in particular, which says, “If the superintendent determines that a student has made posts to social media indicating either that student or another student’s propensity towards violence or gang affiliation, the superintendent may also refer such student to any applicable school-based or district-level student supports.”
Knowles believes student behavior outside of the school should be under police jurisdiction. He blames recent violence in schools on changes in the Huntsville City Schools’ Code of Conduct.
“Wardynski’s new procedure is more about preventing students from providing evidence of his own failures,” he said. “This is absurd and should not be allowed.”
Apparently the 122 security and police officers who patrol these modern-day child prisons are unable to keep the peace. This move by the Huntsville school district echoes that of the federal government.
To bring you security, we must remove all privacy and freedom.
This move by Huntsville officials is part of a larger national movement of monitoring children, and likely the reason why the only people facing charges in the brutal attack by an officer on a South Carolina female student — are the victim and the girl who filmed it.
Instead of addressing the larger issues that lead to violence in schools, like the drug war and recidivism, the iron fist is clamped down tighter and the good students are punished for the actions of a few bad ones — ’tis the nature of public schooling after all.

…the first time I found out school officials were tracking my kids posts…while out of school….for the purpose of administering…”in-school-discipline”…I would sue them for civil rights violations…(personally & institutionally)…and then I’d have each person charged with Stalking and Sexual Predating. If none of that worked…the school officials and I would have an in depth conversation at a later date. The school officials would not approve of, nor enjoy this meeting…but it would take place.

…if you ever read my childhood memoir, you’d discover that I was raised by corrupt, violent law enforcement idiots. I’ve raised three kids and never once had to scream, hit or strike fear into them. I simply taught them to think for themselves. I was also a Federally Protected Whistle Blower for over 20 years with US DoD…and I hate systemic corruption. I would not take kindly to the unrepentant violation of mine…or my children’s rights.

Thanks for reply, RJ. No, wasn’t aware you have memoir. That would be an interesting read though Im sure! My Grandfather was a politician (deceased). I didn’t see what he did but I heard about his dealings over time. He wasn’t high up the tree but he knew enough people to get things done his way. I cant stand corruption. It is carried out by cowards imo. He even stole my inheritance upon my fathers untimely death and gifted it to his daughter and her sons. Why? Because I believe in Jesus. I couldn’t even find a legal person with the balls to represent me. He knew everyone worth knowing…
Schools only have the authority we parents grant and allow to them while our children are in their CARE and on school property. If there are problems with what they are saying on public social media networks this is something for parents to deal with and if laws are broken then and only then should LEO’s become involved.
Thirty years ago we would not have even entertained the idea of tapping every single child’s phone and seeing if they were talking about anything illegal so why are we even discussing this kind of crap? Are they going to demand the diaries of children next? It is way past time for parents to stand up to these ppl that are destroying our children’s childhood one small piece at a time.
They are training our children now to take the ‘fight’ out of them. Children will grow into adults not really standing for anything except living in a world of total apathy. Tell ’em to put their jack boots back in the closet; freedom of speech is guaranteed to EVERYONE and they do not have the authority to supplant it.
This could easily be turned into a golden opportunity- use the social media platforms to start a grassroots protest to get all students to stop posting on social media completely until the Huntsville Gestapo get bored to death and go back to doing what they’re being paid to do. End of problem.

There have already been stories the last couple of years about children being asked about their parents political views, if they own guns, do they cash in the house, etc. Americans are slaves, they just weren’t aware of it before.
As the robots take over this problem will disappear as the need for children will be replaced by Smart Machines that parents can rent and name as their very own, As for schools, they will become obsolete just like politicians and soldiers as they to can be replaced by Smart Technology. I have a little money set aside, we should find other like minded people, buy up some land and separate from the maddening herd. It would be difficult at first but looking at the present system, I don’t see it being sustainable. Separation may be inevitable.
